So, welcome one and all to a nice specialist column i'm writing now, and this is the brand new first edition! Wheyyyy *Cheers* So, I decided to take this topic because of it's immense interest and to get a lively discussion going in this thread.
So, as were coming towards the end of the year, I decided to go ahead and talk about what the *bleep* is going on recently. Jeff Hardy has now seemingly become unbeatable to anyone but HHH, who seems to be the Terminator, Edge has disappeared off the face of the earth, Vladimir Kozlov has seemingly come out of the blue and been proclaimed special and on top of that, The Undertaker is doing 100 different things at once well struggling to walk. Oh, and the Big Show is angry aswell.
So let us first disect the main slice in this pie, HHH and Jeff Hardy. Hardy climbed up the ranks, and was so close to becoming World Champion on RAW, gaining a title shot at the Royal Rumble early this year. This was quickly undone and all the faith was lost when he was suspended for a SECOND time in recent memory, for something that purely 'was a big misunderstanding.' The only miscommunication here Jeff seems to be between your common sense and your body.
Now, after some great title matches, and non title matches between these two, Hardy pins him cleanly in the first encounter at Armageddon (I believe that was the PPV anyway!) and since then, HHH refuses to lie down. It does make you scratch your head doesn't it? WWE seemingly want to make Jeff the champion, hell they've done everything they need to but make him pin HHH for 3 great seconds.
So I must ask you all the first question, should WWE do whats right for business and make him the Champion? Now I know what we're all thinking, the man could easily get suspended again, and this time is strike 3, which means he's out the door. So it's a very important time for Jeff, he needs to display a clever head and carry himself well, and stop getting arrested on planes also might help.
So, saying that, HHH needs to lose the title, it's been long enough, him being on TV for more than 15 seconds is long enough these days though. Hardy could easily win it at WM and have a great moment in wrestling history, hell he could end up winning it at Survivor Series and having said moment, I mean look at it, he is immensely popular and always over, no matter what he does he's cheered, he's a daredevil, and i'm sure some of you will hate me for it, but he isn't a terrible wrestler. He can carry some great matches and these recent months prove that fact.
At the moment, closing notes on this section are basically, excitement. I am truly excited to see how this ends up. It's quite absurd actually at the amount of hype Hardy has at the moment, but yeah, onto other matters!
Now, The Undertaker. I love the guy, but fueding with the Big Slow? Are you JOKING ME!? They might aswell have him fighting an anvil for 3 months, I like show and all that, but 'Taker deserves so much better towards the end of his career IMO, he needs to go out on a high and getting him in the ring with people like Khali and Henry, is a disgrace to his legacy. And, I don't know what the hell happened to his title reign, but that was also a complete joke. He needs to climb back into the title picture as soon as he can, because he'll always be a main event player if people like Batista can be a champion.
Now, this has me torn what to write about. Vladamir Kozlov is a rare breed indeed, he is an impressive athelete and a hard hitting wrestler who seems exciting, but we haven't seen enough of him to see if he is indeed the next big thing. I like him considering he is unproven, and could go far, maybe even be a world champion soon enough if he develops like he could. I just can't see anyone who he could hold a great match with at this moment in time.
And finally, Edge. Where has he been? Injuries have took him off TV a while back and he just hasn't come back. Now, I know for a fact he is on his way back very soon indeed, but just what is there for him to do nowadays? With Jeff/HHH/Kozlov going at it for the title and 'Taker/Show fueding over Vickie, there is nothing for him to do really, unless he gets involved in a fued with Jeff and let Kozlov and HHH fight over the title.
So, going into WWE's most crucial period of the year, HHH and co. Should be able to offer some great storylines and matches over the title amongst other things. With Smackdown! Having a strong main event scene at the moment, especially with someone the calibre of Edge to come back and a star in the making like Kozlov, aswell as a boyhood story to commence in the near future, Smackdown! could become even better if they were to intergrate newer stars like Benjamin and Kendrick into the main event aswell.
So yes, thank you immensely for reading
