Give MVP the WWE Title already
Seriously, it's been a while since I've liked a wrestler this much.
Whilst watching Smackdown, I find myself anticipating the image of the bling and cornrows. I literally cherish pretty much every second he's on the screen (no homo). There really isn't anything he does that doesn't entertain me. He has got a very marketable look, he's got tons of charisma and is great on the mic, he is well above average when it comes to athleticism and in-ring work ethic, and his promos are teh winz (idk why, but I busted out laughing when he snatched the microphone from Eve this week. It made her look like such a useless slut--which is no coincidence).
But then part of me dies a little inside every time I remember that Khali is in the title picture, along with Triple H, who will probably occupy Smackdown's title scene until at least WM 25. I realize WWE is probably just trying not to push MVP to the top too fast (seeing as how Creative seems to have had an inability into develop promising superstars to main event level title contenders lately), but I'm just wondering how long they can afford to wait before MVP's novelty and freshness dies out. I look at a wrestler's WWE career kind of like an engine on a car. You can only put so many miles on it before you need and oil change (or a main event title win) before you start doing serious damage to it from being so neglectful, and I think MVP's career starting to run dry. Don't get me wrong; the Jeff Hardy feud is nothing to scoff at, and they'll probably have a decent match at Summerslam, it's just that I assumed that the lengthy U.S. title reign, coupled with the very entertaining feud with Matt Hardy (and subsequent tag title win) would have been a stepping stone that would boost MVP into the main event picture.
But yet, he's still in the midcard now, and I don't see much of a chance of him coming out on top in his current feud with Jeff Hardy. I also don't think he's got much of a chance of getting anywhere near the title with people like Hardy, Triple H, Edge and The Undertaker in his way. Hell, I'd say even the Big Show, Kennedy, and Umaga are closer to getting world title shots than MVP. I realize that I'm anxious, biased, and wishful, but I think he needs to be bumped into the title scene sooner rather than later.
Don't Get me wrong MVP Has What it Takes to be extremely successful ...hell so far he had his taste of gold but World Championship Gold slightly may be Kinda Early ...I can see him In the Main Event Spotlight but thats just me...I Can See Him w/ the WWE title but if That Reign is gonna Be remembered like it should be His Road to World Championship Gold should be Takened Slow but not 2 slow 2 the point where he slips and Looses His Spot
I myself think he is gonna win the WWE Championship this year. I think he will be Champ before this year ends. MVP is a force to reckoned with. With Umaga and Mr. Kennedy out with injuries, it is only a matter of time before he gets pushed up there.

Agreed. It was only a few weeks ago when MVP was jobbing to the top stars of SD. so for MVP to win the WH title may hurt his credibility of holding the championship. In my opinion, it would mean alot more if MVP won the title next year around Summerslam (at the earliest) so that his title reign would be seen with more credibility and when he loses the title it'll be a bigger shock. Case in POint, look at CM Punk, it's pretty much obvious that he's booked like a sub par champ because he wasn't established enough with more high profile matches with main event talent.
I'd like to see Creative build him up much better. I'm a big fan of him myself, but due to him jobbing randomly after having one of the best feuds in years, he's been made to look like he's pretty unimporant for the mean time.
They need to give him a couple of mini-meaingful-feuds now, with upper midcarders and/or main eventers in my opinion.
Then they can throw him into a small PPV, and give him a title shot, let him lose, ala Jeff Hardy. Though instead of letting Hardy slip away from the title scene/letting him do drugs ( To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. Then, he should be ready for World gold in my eyes.

A big part of my grievance was the way he has been booked recently, which has effectively kept him in the midcard. I realize that it wouldn't make much sense for him to win a title immediately, but I think the booking on Smackdown recently is largely to blame for this.
It is clear for some reason MVP has lost his momentum.. which is never a good sign in the WWE. They need to get him into a credible program and show again what he can do in the ring.
How about a marathon match with HHH or Edge where he pulls out a clean victory? It doesn't have to be a PPV or anything, just a match where the torch is passed.

...so um, did you miss the part where he beat Jeff Hardy at Summerslam? Was that not a credible win?
