Punk The World Heavyweight Champion

Alright, so there are spoilers in this post, if you don't want to know, don't read them.

So as most of you will know by now, Punk used the MITB to pin Edge last night (after Edge had been beaten down by Batista) to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Punk then later defended the title against JBL.

The moment Punk came out and then won, is the most I may have ever marked out quite personally. Well, in a long time at least. Made for a really exciting RAW. It's almost like they're trying to go back to the "nobody's sure what might happen so you have to tune in to see" RAW again. Instead of the old predictable stuff they've been churning out for so long.

Anyways, this thread is more about Punk.

What's everyone's thoughts on him winning? Did anyone possibly not enjoy it? Where does the title go from here? Will he be nothing more than a transitional champion? And who should he feud with?

So many questions. Hook us up with your views.

I marked the fuck out when Punk won the title last night.

I think that with WWE doing all these unexpected things lately, I think that they will give Punk a good lengthy title run instead of an expected Cena title win. Plus Vince McMahon is said to be very high on CM Punk and not so much Cena anymore.

I'm glad that the two major titles on Raw are with two young talented superstars, CM Punk and Kofi Kingston. Whether they're ready or not, I don't care, I'm just glad that both of them are champions. CM Punk looks fucking awesome with the WHC and it's so badass to see his name on the WHC title history on WWE.com

idk, i have mixed feelings about it. Im happy for punk, and I think it is great that wwe is giving a guy his size a chance, but I think it might just all be too soon.

We all know Mr. Punk cashed in his MITB last night and won if ya don't know well sorry lol.. anyways did he stand out after he won with his promo backstage and his match with JBL?

IMO the promo backstage was kool, the title looked really great over his shoulder and you could tell he was so happy. JBL being his first challenger kinda sucked. JBL is a great Heel and all but a bad wrestler and i think Punk may need a HBK, Y2J person to really show that his a main event er im even looking forward to the Cena v Punk feud that looks like might happen maybe next month.

What you guys think?

When JBL first challenged Punk I thought, oh man, they're gonna do another unexpected thing and have JBL win the title tonight. It sure seemed like that what was going to happen. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of both Punk and JBL but I'd rather have Punk as champion. Punk is an amazing talent I think and I hope that WWE gives him a good title reign instead of the expected Cena title win at GAB or even sometime before that.

I got worried when Cena challenged him lol i was jumping up and down when Cena got taken out but then remembered JBL's promo from NOC and was like shit' but Punk came out in the end and i was happy. Punk Wins ' Punk Wins'

Yeah I got worried when Cena basically layed out the challenge to Punk. I was marking out when JBL and his "private security" were beating him down and hauled him to the back. That was awesome. I really hope that WWE gives Punk a good reign and have him go over Cena.

I'm watching RAW now and he's just won it, pretty fucking hilarious booking. The guy comes from jobbing on ECW to being bunked from the Night Of Champions PPV to winning the World Title with a random shitfest of a decision. Not as hilarious as all the fanboys who will claim it's a brilliant move though, I'm a huge fan of Punk but idiocy has most certainly taken over.

I marked out too when CM Punk be ame world champion. THis is great on wwe's part cause Punk brings new shit to the maineevnt scene. I hope he has a pretty good title reign.
