I don't understand this concept about how "If Vince didn't create something, then he'll shit all over it.." It's another internet myth.

After the first week of the InVasion angle, when did WCW look like a treath? WCW was made to look very weak & the biggest example is the final match featured at least two WWE guys on Team WCW (Austin & Angle)

What did you want them to do? Yeah, the Invasion angle sucked.. Yeah.. the wCw guys were made to look like shit, but that's becasue they WERE shit for the most part..

They should have held off until they could sign all the big names.

To be fair, Rated R Phenom did say "unless you're a mega star". It's arguable whether or not you want to consider guys like Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Tazz, RVD, etc to be "mega stars", but people definitely knew who they were and would have noticed if there names had been changed. I'm thinking that, for instance, Chris Harris, will have a different name whenever he debuts.

As for Matt Sydal, I think it's a little wetoddid to have him debut under..."Matt Sydal", and then give him another name the very next week. Unless of course they are actually trying an amnesia gimmick.

...which I think would be equally as lame. The reason there's never been a successful amnesia gimmick is because it's a horrible idea.

I wouldn't call the Dudley Boyz, Raven, CM Punk, Tazz, or any of those guys mega stars.. but I guess it can be argued..

Personally, I don't care what his name is. I like him and if they give him a nice little push, I'd be happy with that..

Ditto. Getting back to the subject at hand, does it really matter? The only people that really know Matt Sydal are wrasslin' geeks. Give him a couple of months as whatever the hell they are going to call him now and then about 500% more people will know him as that and still won't have a clue who Matt Sydal was.

I'm also thinking he himself likely doesn't care a jot as long as he's on national TV, so why should we? As long as he's not this generations Gobbledegooker, we're all happy!

That's the ring name he's gone by for years. Although it's not the only name he has used, pretty much anyone who has seem him wrestle before knows him as Matt Sydal, not just "wrasslin' geeks". Even people who saw him for the first time last week on ECW should know him as Matt Sydal, because that's what they called him last week, as dumb as that was.
