Jayman attends RAW! (Opinions and Observations)

Prior to RAW – no opening pyro, that made me sad. I was in line buying a Kennedy shirt and didn’t get back to my seat until Regal was down. K-Kwik faced some jobber in a dark match, he got a pretty decent pop, but wow..how the NWA champ has fallen. Hacksaw came out for a dark match, and I can’t believe what kind of reaction he got. He faced some guy in the SAME EXACT wrestling attire as Finlay. It was odd. Lots of “USA” chants.

Opening segment – Regal cutting down the Detroit folks was gold. Enjoyed it, and Mickie came bouncing out to little reaction. I popped for her though. My buddies and I chanted “Roast beef sandwich”. Google “Alexis Laree” and you’ll figure out why (only if you’re over 18 though). Then Cena’s music brought a ton of pops from kids and some adults, but once it died down, there was a ton of boos when Cena got on the mic. Funny letters he was reading from fans. At one point, it was quiet and I yelled “CENA, YOU SUCK!” as loud as I could, which I swear made him turn and look right at me with a confused look. Haha, priceless. We were glad we wouldn’t see any lights being turned out tonight. Lillian Garcia singing “Respect”..she did a great job. And wow, she is quite possibly one of the hottest in WWE right now. Those knee-high boots with that sexy dress..MMmm.. She got pops everytime she came to the ring, and during commercial breaks when she was standing in the ring, we had some “Marry Me Lillian” chants that could be heard.

Tag Title match – Piper got a pretty decent pop. Little to nothing for Holly and Rhodes though. Santino is classic, I love that guy.

Kennedy vs. Snitsky – Kennedy’s intro was a highlight of the night. I’m so glad he did the entire intro on the stage. Classic. Surprised Regal didn’t make any appearance or anything. Will there be a Kennedy/Regal match at Judgement Day? Did they set that up with a backstage segment or something? Snitsky is extremely ugly in person. Yeah.

Divas Tag match – Melina’s splits entrance got a good pop. Maria is gorgeous in person. Not much else, we were glad this was a quick match. Many people left during it – piss break.

Y2J/HBK – Man, Jericho didn’t get much of a reaction throughout this. I think it was because we were unsure if we were supposed to be booing or cheering him. HBK got some decent pops though. Even when he said “I’d been faking my injury” – there was a small pop…but still..are we supposed to be booing or cheering him for it? It may have come across as a weak segment, but it was hard to figure out. We knew a superkick was coming, and damn it I just missed taking the picture with it..it happened so fast! Big pop.

Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga – I am sorry to say that Jeff Hardy got the biggest pop of the night. Ugh. Interesting to see him win with the “Whisper in the Wind”. My buddies and I were cheering Umaga, we didn’t care. Screw Hardy. Interesting that he came out and talked a bit about his mistakes, but didn’t specifically mention what it was. He better shape up. He set his sights on the IC title (before Regal cut his mic off). So it looks like he’ll be staying away from the main event picture now for a while.

Tag Team Match – Cryme Tyme is hilarious. Throughout the match we were chanting “Cryme Tyme” and Shad kept turning towards our side and smiling. I was hoping they’d pawn something off after the match, but I guess not. Cade turning on Murdoch wasn’t expected. When it happened, there wasn’t much of a reaction at first, but eventually we were booing Cade’s actions. I rather enjoyed his version of “The Gambler” – he had the arena singing along with him at one point.

Cena vs. Orton – Man, it seemed like forever between the tag match and this one, they had segments and commercial breaks galore. The entire match almost consisted of “Let’s go Orton”, “Let’s go Cena” dueling chants. I’ll let you figure out who we were cheering for. We saw the steel cage up there from the beginning and were hoping it would be used for a match eventually. Midway through this match, the cage started lowering a bit and everyone was cheering. Eventually when it did, we noticed the cage wasn’t tied down at the corners, so it was no surprise Orton flew right out of it. We were upset that there was no Triple H until the last 3 minutes; he’s the WWE champion and a week before the PPV, he should’ve played a more prominent role. I believe the feed probably cut off when Triple H was looking down at Orton from the top of the cage.

Afterwards – This was great. JBL and Orton were at the top of the stage for a while, and eventually Umaga came out and they were in the cage beating down on the faces. Then, the D-X music hits and everyone goes crazy – HBK comes running down, with no knee injury of course, and a referee is down to make it a 3on3 cage match. They actually fought it under tag rules, which looked awkward as there is little space on that apron with the cage right behind you. Fun match that ended with all 3 faces giving their finishers at the same time in the middle of the ring, then all pinning the heels for the 3 count. The heels get out and the cage raises up. HBK gets a mic and starts running circles around the ring while the crowd cheers. He hands it to Triple H who asks “Are you ready”….”I SAID..Are…You….Ready? …….Come on John (Cena), you’re going to do this too..

(at this point, crowd boos at Cena’s involvement with this, and Trips says “Hey, if we’re gonna be acting all lame out here, John’s gonna do it too”)

Then, for the thousands in attendance, for the millions watching around the world……Wait..what Shawn? (asking someone in the front row) Hey what time is it kid? 11:30? Oh hell, nobody’s watching anymore. Okay.

“For the thousands in attendance, for the millions no longer watching around the world…(stops their pose and Trips walks over towards JR)…and for Jim Ross, who probably has to pee right now after sitting there for 2 hours straight. Probably thinking about leaky faucets and waterfalls (they throw JR on the tron, and he’s acting like he has to pee – priceless) Seriously..let’s give him a hand for all the hard work he’s done. JR, take a bow…”

(they get back in their pose finally)

“Okay….(mumbling), let’s see…did the thousands in attendance. Millions not watching. Hm, oh yeah, did JR peeing too. Okay (gets back into his pose and the deep voice)…”LLLEEETS GET READY TO SUUCCCKKK ITT!!!!!”

(hands microphone to HBK, who does his “if you’re not down with that…”)

HBK and HHH do the crotch chopping and at the top of the stage, HHH, HBK, Cena do the four crotch chops, with green pyro “X” ’s coming up behind them. End of show.

That segment was hilarious, Trips is hilarious on the mic.

Afterwards, we were heading back downtown towards our car when we are passing by Greektown Casino in downtown Detroit. We see this woman, who is nasty and looks like a hooker, heading towards us with a guy walking with her. None of me and my buddies are really looking at the guy, we are just trying to look away from the hooker girl. Right as they are about to pass us, I look at the guy she’s with: JTG from Cryme Tyme. He’s dressed in the same exact outfit still as you saw him on RAW. He gives me the biggest grin, probably knowing I am a wrestling fan (had my Kennedy shirt on). I smile back politely, but it doesn’t hit me until after he has already passed who he was. No joke, ALL 4 of us stopped in our tracks at the same time, turned to eachother and said “Cryme Tyme?” at the same time. Haha..by the time we turned back to him, he and the ugly chick had already headed into the Casino for a fun night I’m sure.

All in all, this was a great experience, a lot better than the past 2 SD/ECW shows I’ve gone too.

Anyways, sounds like it was fun.. the after RAW shit is always better than the actual show itself lol.. I thought the first hour of RAW was ok, then it kinda got boring..

I don't know.. Mickie is a lot more my type.. I've never found Lillian attractive. I don't like her body and I really don't care for her face either.
