Do you think it was wise for Hardy to win just like that? I personally think they would have been better off teasing it just a bit more. MVP could have cheated this one last time to sneak away with another one and constantly dodging Hardy till he finally boils over and the fans are salivating over a Hardy victory.

I just feel he kinda one and it was expected this go around.

I think the injury pretty much ruined the feud so they figured they'd just give Hardy the belt now.. They could have gotten some miles out of it but I almost expect MVP to be the next challenger for Undertaker.

I didn't watch Backlash but read the results. I agree that a MVP cheating would normally be the way to go, but the feud has been so stop-start and the fact that MVP already defeated before at last yr's great american bash (i think) and cheated numerous times against hardy, that it would just start to get a little redundant and make hardy look like a chump.

I agree with Danny, they should have held it off untill at least one more PPV, have M.V.P cheat his way to victory or take a delibrate countout then have Hardy go over at Judgment Day and then the inevitable ladder match at One Night Stand

Agreed with DD. I would have like to seen a bit more of this with Matt chasing for the title. He just came back about a month ago, why give it to him so soon?

A lot of steam has been lost now that Matt has won the US title, and with MVP chasing the title back, not as many people are gonna care.

I would have dragged this all the way to Summer Slam.

Vickie could have told Hardy that after his lost at Backlash, he would need to start at the bottom of the roster and work his way up.

This could easily go four months. Have MVP be on commentating and rip Hardy for not being able to beat him.

Hardy finally beats the people he needs to beat, gets MVP in a steel cage at Summer Slam and wins a bloody, 20 minute match.

That would be what i would have done.

I agree with WWE's decision to put the US title on Matt Hardy at Backlash. I think MVP has certainly become one of the breakout stars of the WWE lately and I think, at this point, he doesn't need the US title to prove that he is (or is close to being) a major player in the WWE (or at least on Smackdown). Hardy has been out for the last few months and even though he gets good pops, for him to remain strong, he needs to carry some gold.

Plus, this feud has gone on forever, mainly due to Hardy's injury, and it was about time that he finally got that US title win.

The fued went on way to long due to MVP and Hardy winning tthe tag team gold and then Hardy with his injury. So that's why they gave him the belt just like that! But I think this fued may still go on til maybe One Night Stand? Where I still belive there could be a ladder match!

I really wouldn't mind seeing MVP vs. The Undertaker. I mean it would be something fresh besides Batista vs. Taker or Edge vs. Taker. I really don't know if I would put the title on MVP just yet but I wouldn't mind seeing him Main Event a few PPVs against The Undertaker. I could see them maybe having a fued and then ending the with Taker but really establishing MVP as a Main Eventer....

As far as the original question... I really didn't expect Hardy to win the title from MVP that quickly after returning. But WWE did make Hardy look like legit competition and not a jobber for a ppv match. I mean his first Smackdown! appearance back he defeated MVP himself in a non-title match and the only tv match I can remember Hardy losing since returning was a match against CM Punk that didn't make Hardy lose any points really. After the fued with MVP maybe Hardy will keep the title rather than dropping back to MVP. If this happens MVP could fued with Taker while Hardy could fued with heels like Morrison, Umaga (if drafted to SD!), and others....
