Why are people putting the guy who lost into the main event?

its been a lonf fued so have Hardy hold the belt and MVP chase it might change things up/

I have MVP as a main event player despite losing the title (and eventually the feud with Matt Hardy) because in the past few months he's become, in my opinion, the #2 heel on Smackdown behind Edge. He's a solid in-ring performer and on the mic and he's also been built up enough that he doesn't need the US title to look like a threat. You can't say the same thing for Matt Hardy, who has been out of action for like 5 months. Because of the injury, he lost all the momentum he had and he needs something to show that he is of some importance, i.e. the US Title.

Besides, I'm sure anyone at this point could see a Undertaker vs. MVP match for the World Heavyweight Title or Batista vs. MVP, but could you see Matt Hardy in the current main event picture? I sure can't.

That happens all the time.

Bret Hart lost the IC title to the British Bulldog at Summerslam and went streight into the Main event picture. As a matter of fact he was defending the WWF title at the next WWF pay per view.

Booker T dropped the TV title and went into the WCW Heavyweight title picture.

John Cena lost the U.S title to Orlando Jordon and went on to Main Event Mania against JBL.

omg I can't believe I read that someone here thinks that MVP will face Taker for a title. Fat Chance. MVP is a no talent loser. He didn't even deserve the US title for the length of time he had it. If MVP gets a title shot (if taker gets the title back, since being stripped of it) I will be through with Smackdown and the NO talent that goes with it. Taker is the only really good wrestler on SD, and the only reason he isnt on RAW is because they need him on SD to sell tickets....hhha
