Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Co Workers Say Angle's Release May Have Saved Life credit: Prowrestlingscoops ------------------------------------------- As everyone who reads this site knows by now, Kurt Angle was released from his WWE contract on Friday. Several people who worked in WWE closely with Angle have said the decision to let him go may have actually saved his life. Kurt has been more and more dependent on prescription medication because of the numerous injuries he has suffered over the last few months and was "a shell of a man" according to one of his co-workers. "It was just sad to see him that way" said one source. According to other sources, Kurt was suspended for 30 days recently and came back normal and like the old Kurt again. With the new injuries though, the pain killers once again got to him and he took another turn for the worse. According to other sources within WWE, there is a major part to this story that is still missing. Kurt had a $1 million per year guaranteed contract that always pays wrestlers while healing up including drug rehab. So the major question is - why would he opt out of a contract that was guaranteed pay whether he had injuries or needed rehab. There are family issues right now, but there is more to this story and it will likely come out over the next week or so. Stay tuned. ------------------------------------------- Well, this story seems to be getting more and more interesting. Would you leave your contract when you could keep it, take some time off and still get payed? Something isn't right.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | He just needs to rest. He's had injuries, worked through them, thought he was alright, then got more injuries. A job as a WWE wrestler is a hard, grueling life which not too many fans realize. You travel, you wrestle, you make appearances, you train and you rarely ever get to see your family. People see the WWE lifestyle with all the glitz and glamour, but not everyone sees the hard life that it is. Remember WM XIX? Kurt's neck was going to fucking break if Lesnar did a move wrong on him, but he chose to wrestle and put on a show for the fans. What a man, he didn't want to puss out. (he was in the main event that night) You might have called it foolish, but it took guts and courage, which is what Angle's all about. I believe after WM XIX that he went to get neck surgery, but still, his body was just too banged up. He became GM of SD in 2004 cos his neck was fucked, and then brought in the Angle Invitational in 2005 so he could work easy squashes frequently. Personally, I say keep Angle out of action as long as possible so he can heal up. Even if he doesn't come back to wrestling, just so he can live a healthy life for as long as he lives so he can be with his family. It's pretty scary to read that he saved his life by choosing to get released from his contract. Obviously, life is more important than money, so Kurt chose to leave. It was the right thing to do, and if I was him I would have done the exact same thing.

Rep Power: 12 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | He loves us all, the fans, we kept him going, and I suppose in effect, we gacve him some hope that he could actually keep going, but I am so relieved that we didn't kill him, the man is a great man, and wrestler, and is one of the true greats, and we do not need a repeat of Eddie (R.I.P) I mean, the man is a great, and thinking your alright basically makes your body worse. Well done Kurt, I hope he doesn't push it to come back. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Like they said, he really wasn't in a good state of mind. Maybe he just didn't want to deal with WWE at the moment, good or bad. Time off, is better than going to rehab and still having to deal with contract issues, paid or not. 'But then again, what do I know. lol. |
