Man, I liked this Cena about 1000X's better than the current squeaky clean Champ.

Why can't he just get pissed, turn heel and go back to his former gimmick?



Speaking of which.......do guys EVER turn anymore? What was the last turn of significance?

It seems nowadays to be a more casual thing and then suddenly they just align with their new face or heel group.

I liked turns alot better. Not this "I think he is a face now"......kinda like they just were doing with Umaga before he got suspended. You could tell they were slowly turning him, but then the news of his drugs came up and they just made sure people saw him as a heel again.

Thoughts?

They are definitely blowing it with Cena. He just isn't asked to do anything at all except cut an "I'm an American hero" type of promo. Even as the U.S. Champ after he turned face he was a lot more entertaining.

As for the heel turns, there hasn't been a big one since probably HBK and that only lasted a month. Next turn will probably be Triple H for the 12th time.

WWE wont turn Cena heel due to his merchandise sales, nobody on the WWE roster comes close to him in making the company money, where as with Austin/Rock, the one they didnt turn heel compensated for the heel

Heel or face he will sell the same amount.

No he wont, after Rocks last heel turn his sales went down huge, faces always sell more than heels(Austin 1996/97 being the one exception)

Its kinda annoying though that they base their overall storylines around merchandise sales........

The worst part of it all is that their merchandise absolutely sucks. I love wrestling and you wouldnt catch me dead in 99% of their stuff.

Its like how Rey will never go heel because all the kids buy the stupid masks.

I wouldnt be seen dead in the WWE gear, but if I was ten I would most likely being wearing John Cena T-Shirts, but I draw the line at a Rey mask

I like the new HHH shirt, but I wouldn't buy it, because it says HHH on the back. Other than that, it just looks like a fairly stylish t-shirt.

I think the last memorable turn I remember was Batista turning on Trips and going face.

We all saw it coming, but at least it was clearly defined.

I have a few WWE shirts, but don't wear them often. I have the "Arrive. Raise Hell. Leave." Austin shirt because I think that applies to how I approach everything in life.
