I think the fact that they never established a new set of stars after Rock, Austin, Foley could have contributed to their downfall. They tried with Brock, but he left and the only one they have been able to create is Cena. That is not enough to carry a brand.

A combination of things.

1. No direct competition. As in Nitro.

2. The WCW mistake on a smaller scale. WCW didnt make stars, they stole them when they were in their 40's.

WWE had Austin, Rock, Foley etc but they havent replaced them properly.

They have sorted that out now tho. They have Cena & Orton as the young guys, Triple H & Edge as the middle guys and Michaels & Undertaker as the veterns.

WCW only had Michaels & Undertaker group. With the occasional Triple H & Edge thrown in.

3. Arogance from Vince in not even being bothered to look at TNA. Every wrestling company regardless of size is competition. If Vince doesnt do something in five years time he will have TNA & ROH (maybe) breathing down his neck.

not to sound crazy but get some proper good guys in there, say cabana, jacob duncan and maybe some good ROH workers like whitmer and castagnolli, then im pretty sure the ratings would rise!
