Rhino is in the ring saying he had a call from Vince McMahon saying he wanted to hire him back. (Crowd boos Vince’s name) Rhino told Vince no, He is TNA (TNA chant) He says how can you start up ECW without their last Television and ECW Heavyweight Championship? He says he has the real title to prove it. He has received numerous legal letters about the belt etc. But Rhino says if he wants the belt he should man up and come to the Impact Zone and take it from him. (Crowd goes crazy) He says he is going to do something he should have done 5 long years ago. He walks backstage. This is the promo of a lifetime from Rhino. He says he is tired of people trying to resurrect the past, he says to look at the Impact Zone. There is Shane Douglas, Raven, Team 3D and himself. That was the heart and soul of ECW and ECW is Dead. Only a proper burial is necessary. “I am sick and tired of Vince McMahon profiting off the heart and soul of wrestlers. Its time to bury ECW.†(He lights the barrel with the ECW title on fire) He issues an open challenge to anyone that works for any company to bring it to the Impact Zone and face him one on one. The result is always the same. GORE!! This was literally one of the coolest promos I have ever seen and I am instantly interested in anything and everything Rhino is involved in. Wow. You simply must see this. Abyss vs. Norman Smiley Am I the only one that would LOVE to see Abyss drop this horrible crazy man gimmick? He should also get rid of James Mitchell. He is so cheesy 80’s it’s not even funny. The whole Abyss/Mitchell match up is also way to reminiscent of a Kane/Bearer/Mankind love fest. This is also a good time to talk about the way they book on this show. This is essentially a squash match and you could care less about the details. Black hole slam. 123 Yup. I couldn’t even finish my thought and this was over. Why bother? Why not just have Mitchell call out the James Gang as was expected. They want to know if they can count on Abyss. The James Gang is dressed in camo, yet Kip James continues to girl it up. Man, he could have been a main eventer in the WWE if handled right. He just loves to gay it up for some reason. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that) They shake hands and say they made a deal with the devil. Yup. Abyss is going to screw it up at Victory Road. Sting promo talking about Victory road and it will be Showtime. Holy crap its Christy Hemme. Lets get her managing some X-Divisioner or something. Just get her in the ring. Man, this also shows how much they need another hour or so of TV time each week. The Naturals promo. They look like a good young team. Let’s hope they can deliver as well as their promos come off. Daniels/AJ promo. They talk about how it was always some stupid Gail Kim move that was messing up their chances. But they brought in their X-Factor. (I didn’t catch her name, sounded like Murelda or something weird.) AJ and Daniels come off as a cool almost cocky tag team that are enjoying themselves. Do I smell a heel turn for both these guys? Senshi vs. Jarrel Park? Senshi pretty much beats this guy up pretty good. He doesn’t dominate much though. This match didn’t showcase his stuff too well. Scott Steiner promo. This guy should never ever talk again. He throws out that Americans can beat Canadians at anything. That’s the best you can do Scott? Christian Promo. He thinks it may come down to him and Sting. He will take him down. Lots of quick short promos in this episode. Paparazzi Productions. Shelley says they are expanding and have hired a new production assistant. Johnny Devine. They will be taking on the champs in a non – title match. Shelley/Devine vs. Daniels/Styles (non-title) Shelley is an TNA future MVP. I already think he is one of the most entertaining on the program as is. AJ and Daniels were their signature clothes but are wearing the same deep blue look. I like that. It makes them seem more like a team. Colors can do a lot for perception. AJ and Daniels are tuning up Shelly with tag moves. Some good knee drops back and forth. Johnny Devine has some good moves but he can’t be any taller than 5’8. Surelda (sp) stops Shelley from grabbing the tripod as he was going to use it as a weapon. Meanwhile AJ hits a flying clothesline off Daniels for the win. Post match. AMW and Gail come to the ring and beat down the champs. They handcuff Daniels to the ropes and beat up on Styles. AMW raises the title belts to promo. Raven/Larry Promo. Larry says he will never lose his dignity. Gee, how much of a chance do you think he has at the PPV? Promo 743 of the night. Samoa Joe talks about Victory Road. He thinks he will get pinned in under 5 seconds by Steiner. He also talks about becoming a pizza delivery boy if Sting wins the title. Wait, no he actually talked about how it’s his day. Promo 744 of the night Jeff Jarrett……….. Sorry. I fell asleep for the past 2 minutes. Let’s get back to the review. Sorry about that. Team Canada promo. They talk about sticking it to Cornette and Young better get his head in the game. Young exits the room last looking all worried. Rhyno/Lethal/Ray/Dvon vs. Team Canada Whoever gets the pin gets a title shot. Not really sure WHAT title they are talking about. Tag titles are implied I think. If Team Canada loses they must disband. Ah they get a title shot of their choosing. Team Canada getting beat up early until Petey Williams hits the ring. When we come back from commercial its Lethal vs. Roode in the ring. Rhino comes in as a house of fire and takes out everyone. This doesn’t appear to be an elimination match either, so it could get ugly towards the end with everyone looking for the title shot. D'Amore comes in the ring with a hockey stick but is taken out by Brother Runt. Rhino hits a gore on A1 and Lethal follows with a flying head butt and Lethal gets the title shot.
