Greatest wrestling commercial

Which wrestling commercials have been your favourites down the years.

I think I would probably go for the one in '98 (ish) which featured all the WWE guys (and Sable) walking around the offices in Stamford talking about how their product was so wholesome whilst executives were throwing each other through windows and smashing each other with chairs.

Also the whole bunch of Mania ads down the years. Special mention to the Jericho/Christian/Benoit/Stacey "Basic Instinct" ad.

And the "Are you talking to me" one as well.

Any others?

Re: Greatest wrestling commercial

I have to agree that the one they made for the superbowl where the office was getting demolished was the best commercial.

Re: Greatest wrestling commercial

I loved the Sportscenter commerical they ran years back about wrestling.

For those that haven't seen it, basically it starts out with Keith Olbermann (Sportscenter anchor) talking about how athletes can get mad if their highlights aren't shown on the show. They talk about the wrestlers getting angry once.

You see King Kong Bundy walking down a row of cubicles screaming "Where's my highlights?" Then, Kevin Nash is pinning down an anchor against a copy machine....Paul Bearer, HBK, and Undertaker are cornering Dan Patrick while he's mumbling: "Of course it's real...if it was up to me, we'd be running your highlights every night on SportsCenter........it's just the camera angles you use......the lighting isn't great...."

For those who haven't seen it, go to youtube and watch it.

And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (10/13/2008)

Anything but the Present

America has no now. We're reluctant to acknowledge the present. It's too embarrassing.

Instead, we reach into the past. Our culture is composed of sequels, reruns, remakes, revivals, reissues, rereleases, re-creations, reenactments, adaptations, anniversaries, memorabilia, oldies radio, and nostalgia record collections. World War II has been refought on television so many times, the Germans and Japanese are now drawing residuals.

Of course, being essentially out of shit, we sometiems feel the need to dress up this past preoccupation, as with pathetic references to reruns as "encore presentations".

Re: Greatest wrestling commercial

All the Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood ones were awesome. And while they weren't really commercials, the Desire & History videos were some of the best things the WWE churned out. They should make more of them.
