Let’s pretend Christian Cage’s contract is up with TNA soon. I am not sure, but I thought it was a 2 year deal for some reason when he originally signed. I could be totally wrong about that. But for the sake of this discussion let’s assume it runs out soon and he has a 90 day no compete clause. This would set him up for a Summerslam return. Of course, this conversation can also be about WOULD Vince sign him back in the first place as well. Is he considered “a bad seed” now, so to speak. Christian will always be remembered as the first guy that really had something good going at the WWE that said, “You know what, TNA is a better place for me right now” and that takes balls. Could Vince get over that? Would Christian want to come back? A few questions to ponder: Where would Christian fit into the WWE’s plans? Has Christian legitimized himself as a main eventer in all of wrestling, not just TNA? Would you like to see him back in the WWE? I will add my two cents about the whole Christian thing after a few of you toss your comments about. DD

The Return I'm not sure if Christian can be considered a bad seed, since he's not bashing Vince and Co like the almighty VKM did. If he were to come back now, he might be put into the upper mid card level on smackdown (just because he might be needed there more than RAW and whilst Edge has moved, the mid card needs to be padded out a little). I would love to see him in WWE, just because I don't get to watch much TNA. It would also help to dilute the impact that a snitsky, or decuce and domino would have on WWE programming.

The WWE has given in to others who have left in the past under much more controversial endings as well.. I'd say Christian has proved he can be a main eventer. I'm sure WWE watches the matches and the promos.. someone in the company anyway. The thing that I believe helps him the most is how awesome Edge has become over the past couple years. They are very similar.

He's always thought well of guys that went out and tried to make their own way in the world and spoken fondly of them. It also makes him very keen to get them back when they become available again. What he's not so hot on though, is then pushing them to the moon. I feel Vince will just see him as he did before, an upper mid card guy. I don't think any amount of fronting up in TnA will have made him now look on him as a main event guy. That's just the way for Vince, he wants what he can't have but then realises he didn't want it so bad after all. If I were Christian (and in a good bargaining position) I'd want a guarantee of a World Title run before even considering a return to WWE. Plus for Christian, another large part of his leaving was the WWE schedule. If anything, that's even tougher now, so it may not suit him to return from that viewpoint either. Personally, I'd love to see him back though. He's a hell of a turn.

I don't think Vince would have any problems bringing CC back in (He parted from WWE on good terms), and hasn't had a bad word to say about the company (Except a tiny bit of bagging it upon his arrival to TNA).. I think CC wouldn't go back - he's a made man in TNA, why give that up when it's clear to all that it's the glory, not the cash he wants? |
