SCSA The Stone Cold Pop

I got chills from the pop this guy got. It reminded me of when wrestling was at it's peak. The Rock and Austin could command amazing pops.

Austin didn't do anything except drink beer and refuse to shake Vince's hand and the place went freaking bonkers.

I realize that it's been a long time since he has been around and its expected that people will go crazy seeing him again but those pops were regularly cheering like that from 98-02. Those were the WWE best days for sure.

Fo sho. I even watched wrestling then.

The beer truck incident will forever live on as one of the most funniest moments.

Definitely.

I do not know if we will ever see wrestling as big as it was then.

I sure hope so, then I will start watching it again!

Re: The Stone Cold Pop

I can't agree more. It truly was beautiful. But sad at the same time. There's nobody at that level who will ever recieve that pop in this decade. 90's had Austin and Rock, 80's had Hogan unfortunately....the closest now is Cena and even that's being generous.

Although i gotta say, the segment on Raw done with perfection. The swerves were fun

I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

Re: The Stone Cold Pop

I think I had this convo with young Bladester (whatever happened to that guy!) some moons back.

Our conclusion, from what I recall, was that as well as the obvious things the group needed (better direction re roster splits, better creative writing) one thing they truly needed was a "breakout" star to cross over and give them momentum.

Sadly, we decided that the only even possible guy on the current roster was Cena. The group do have some exceptional performers, like Edge for example, but those guys tend to lack a look, personality or character that screams "crossover potential" at me.

Re: The Stone Cold Pop

I don't think there will be anybody the the charisma of Stone Cold or the Rock. Those two just had something to offer.

Now, WWE just tries to slam stars down our throats. I don't think it will be the same again.

I got those old feelings as well. Hopefully he stunners both Umaga and Lashley before WM.

Funny you mention that. Edge is actually going to be on MadTV next week. MadTV (incase they dont show it across the pond) is a sketch comedy show.

He and Randy Orton appeared on Deal or No Deal this past week and played the heels. Quite funny actually.

Re: The Stone Cold Pop

It's sad that a nostalgic pop is leagues better than any modern day pop. Thats whats missing from today's product, no "superstar" has that feelin you're seeing something special. HBK is still great, Edge is deffo leading the way but realistically I (and by defualt) you just dont care. Until they capture that "care" wrestlin is spent as a main-stream player.

I had a sig, once.
