| Is Cena becoming the next Hogan? Obviously there are a lot of differences, but it seems like Vince is trying to make Cena into "the guy" for many years to come. He wrestles a really safe style, he never seems to get injured. He does more pumping up the crowd with his actions, rather than his moves. The whole 'you can’t see me' and then the weak little fist drop. Similar to the leg drop. I could see a heel turn coming in the next year or so too that would be like Hulk turning into Hollywood. People will be getting sick of the good guy always winning and can do no wrong. Cena also has been on a bunch of late night shows (Conan, Kimmel) to promote WWE, he does all sorts of cross promotions. He does the same move set when he's doing his own version of hulking up where he is seemingly invincible. I don’t know, before everyone jumps on me and says 'you idiot', it's just something to think about. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Is Cena becoming the next Hogan? I can definitely see that. I bet Cena will book himself not to lose ten or fifteen years from now if he is still with the WWE as well. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Is Cena becoming the next Hogan? It's an interesting point, nice thread JP. I've not heard of any rumours of Cena attempting to use any amount of "stroke" to politic backstage as yet, maybe we'll get that and the black boot polish beard in future!! | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Is Cena becoming the next Hogan? What are you talking about? There's only one guy who's undefeated and can take Cena out of contention. Look out for Kevin Federline as he sits a top the wrestling business for decades to come. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Is Cena becoming the next Hogan? I think there are certainly comparisons to be made. Certainly, I see them as two main eventers who pretty much suck in the ring, but are good on the mic. Haha, in all seriousness, I agree with the comparisons. But I don't think Cena will ever have the level of general mainstream success Hogan has had - no-one else bar Austin and Rock have come close. But we'll see. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Is Cena becoming the next Hogan? He's on par as far as his in-ring work. He gets his ass beat only to make a miracle comeback and always win. He's branching out into commercials, and he's well liked by Vince. It sucks because Cena seems like a legit good guy, but WWE has just forcefed him too much too soon. I think he'll main event for years to come but I doubt he'll be around at 50 like Hogan is/was. | ||||||||||||||

| Cena is well on the right path to becoming the next Hogan. With all of the late night show appearances, and movie roles he is becoming quite the franchise wrestler. Vince is definitely looking for a preformer to take WWE into the future and i think that Vince is pushing Cena into that role and in the process Cena is becoming a very big fan favorite with kids and women which is the same way Hogan became the star that he is now. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Is Cena becoming the next Hogan? I cannot aggree more! They just keep pushing Cena harder and harder with each passing PPV. I will say the title has to get off his waist. The spinner belt was cool for a while, but they seriously need to go back old school with the belt. It was IMO made the title worth something. However it is sadly clear that Cena will be champ for quite some time. | |||||||||||||||
