WWE's web site confirms Big Show's departure

The WorldÂ’s Largest Athlete has made his lifeÂ’s biggest decision, and for now, WWE and ECW will be without a giant.

Not since Andre the Giant has there been a man of Big ShowÂ’s stature whoÂ’s made such impact on sports-entertainment. But, after more than seven years in WWE and a five-month reign of dominance in the reborn ECW, Big Show has decided to take time away from the ring.

Enduring not only one of the most physical confrontations in his career against new ECW World Champion Lashley on ECW on Sci Fi, but also experiencing the agony and misery within the torturous Extreme Elimination Chamber, it seemed that this week was the breaking point for the giant.

Some close to Big Show have said that his pride was lost after losing the ECW World Title. His lingering emotions and injuries, coupled with several tumultuous days contributed to his decision to step away.

he wont be in TNA he seriously has been hurting and the man is too overweight he's actually like 530 pounds, he needs to lose some of it or his life's end will just come up on us quicker, he's not going to have a long life at his age, but any weight he can lose will make it longer, I doubt we ever see him in the ring wrestling again, though i could always be wrong...

Care to explain yourself? Big Show is one of the best big men ever, and like it or not he carried the new ECW brand.

I have to admit, I saw this one coming. He has had nagging back injuries lately and will probably never return to wrestling.

Sad he is leaving wwe but whatever. He was becoming a boring person to watch. It felt like I had been watching his gimmick for 12 years. I'm glad he retired or quit. He was good for a while but he showed he had nothing left in him. His body wasn't all big and bad anymore and scary looking.

I hope he doesn't head over to TNA becuase I watch it normally and would be pretty fed up if I had to see his repeat again. Plus he in TNA would be queer.

I hope he goes no where and stays away. Also good luck to him.
