World Title Matches @ WM23 - Wrestling Forums : WWE, TNA, ECW, E-Fed, Wrestlemania, Live Wrestling Streams

There's been a lot of discussion on this forum over who might be in the title matches, who might win the Rumble, and we've all come to agreement that WWE will probably have Cena, Batista, and Lashley on the face side of their respective brand's title match, which sounds awful.. but that's WWE for you.

I was just wondering, looking at the current roster, who would you guys place in each title match if it were up to you?

I expect CM Punk to be in everyone's ECW match, it's like a crime against the internet to not have him in there.. haha..

But seriously, what would you do?

RAW... I would have Cena against Kennedy. I know SD! needs star power, but with the injury to Triple H, it's not like RAW is in that much of a better position right now. If cena were to get back some edge to his character, this feud could be amazing. It's no secret that I've wanted the brand extention to end for a long time anyways.. so after Mania, I would do some kind of unification between at least RAW and SD! I think Cena vs. Kennedy is about the best you could do. Kennedy is a real star in the making.

SD!.. This one's tough when you take Kennedy out of the equation... I'd go ahead and let Batista defend against Undertaker. Streak vs. title. Not because I think it'd be a great match, but because I want to see the Deadman with one last run as world champion. Yeah, that's right. If I'm booking, there's no fucking way in hell Batista ends that streak. Taker takes it to the grave.

ECW.. I would have an ECW rules match between RVD and CM Punk because I think that's the best possible match they could have. No real animosity.. just two great athletes for the gold, give 'em a good 25 minutes or so to go all out. Make it ECW rules just so RVD can use the chair for a couple of his big signature spots and have CM Punk win the ECW strap with the fucking Pepsi Plunge!

It is tough to pick these as normally its the top stars and with there not being that many, WWE is finally going to have to push someone young into at least 1 of the title matches.

For Raw i can see a few possibilities, Cena vs Michaels vs Edge vs Orton, Cena vs Edge or Cena vs the rumble winner. Raw seems to have the bigger stars which is why its tough to pick this.

For Smackdown if Undertaker doesn't win the rumble then he will win at Wrestlemania. I did read somewhere a while back that in Undertakers contract he can either have the rumble win or a win at Mania and i personally can't see him give up the Mania streak to probably Batista.

ECW should involve CM Punk but with his current De-Push due to Finaly & Anderson then he may not even get onto Mania which is when i see RVD vs Test as their main event.

Non of these would ever happen but I think they'd be the best matches and best draws.

Raw - Edge vs Orton, have one of them win the title off Cena and they break up because of it and go at each other. I'd rather see Edge as face because we've seen Orton face and it just doesnt work.

Smackdown - Batista vs Undertaker is a good idea as long as Undertaker wins the match and keeps his wrestlemania streak. Because seriously he can NOT lost to Batista. But if Undertaker faces Kane at Maina then i think Kane will take it and in that case i'd love to see Benoit vs Kennedy even though it wouldnt draw.

ECW - CM Punk vs RVD seems like the only money match but i'd rather see CM Punk vs Hardcore Holly just because RVD seems to have just lost it, I hope he goes to TNA because both him and Sabu havent been the same since they got busted.

Someone else mentioned it, but RVD goes thru patches. He'll be great for awhile and then bad for awhile.

Ok,

Raw :- I think they've rested Edge/Cena enough that they could be the main event of 'mania. I'd personally have either Edge or Randy Orton win the rumble, have it cause friction and then go for the obvious triple threat.

Smackdown :- Batista really needs a gimmick wrestler to fight, the buzz seems to be Hogan/Khali at mania' personally I'd go Hogan/Batista and instead of playing on Hogan/Andre play on Hogan/Warrior.

ECW :- Obviously the entire world wants CM Punk in this, myself I'd rather see him put on a clinic with benoit or HBK over nothing than have to try and adapt his style to either Holly or Lashley. Which is why Lashley/Holly would be my ECW title match.

Sorry, but no. I don't want to see that again. This is Wrestlemania. Surely they can think of something better and more creative, or at least I hope..

They had a great feud, but way too soon I think to do it all again..

Ok here is what I would go with -

RAW - Umaga (champ) Vs HHH - I think Umaga should pick up the strap and lose to a face HHH at Wrestlemania.

Smackdown - Batista Vs John Cena - Cena wins the Royal Rumble and goes on to face Batista.

ECW - Really dont think there is the star power for a one on one matchup. I would say Lashley Vs CM Punk Vs Test Vs Holly! Doesnt scream Wrestlemania to me either!!

Ouch! Umaga, holding a belt, meh maybe around september whilst things are quiet but going into mania??? suicidal. Batista Vs Cena would only work as a unification bout, and then would need some really, really good build, face/face matches are a hard sell, but when the payoff is a poor match they become immpossible. ECW, well to be honest the ailing brand does need to showcase it's stars and they might have to do it all in one spot so you may not be far of the mark, however CM Punk needs to be competing against agile competition around the lower end of the heavyweight division and lets be honest when Bob Holly is considered as a title challenger at mania, well.......
