I fear that most Wrestling fans have now accquired IQ's lower than their shoe sizes.

It may be the role he was supposed to play, but it was not the role he ended up in. He basically was back pedaling trying to get cheap face points in order to get him over. WWE had to go as far as to bring K-Fed in, one of the most hated people in this country in order to try to get him over. Anyon who has issues trying to get over, class act or not, no matter what he is SUPPOSED to be viewed as according to WWE management, he doesn't deserve to be the face of the year. Will I give him kudos for being a good face... meh. He has his moments, but WWE side of things you have about 4 wrestlers of the top of my head whom are more deserving. HHH, HBK, Batista, Rey Mysterio... When you go to the TNA side of things ( which its apparant not many here watch) you can start adding more to that list. Because of the reaction that the crowd has I would almost label Cena as a heel... Remember it's the audience that determines who is face and who is heel... PERFECT EXAMPLE of this... Stone Cold Steve Austin. He was going to be marketed as a heel, but everyone loved him, so even doing his heel like antics, the crowd treated him as a face and therefore he was a face and arguably one of the most sucessful superstars of all time.

Cena sold the most merchandise in the group over the year, so I'd indicate that the drunken boomongers in the crowd following the herd aren't the concensus opinion of that a face actually is.

IF we are talking about John Cena as a person I could see why you voted based on your argument about him being a stand up guy. He is a good guy, but the character of John Cena that is portrayed.... by John Cena, did not deserve it IMO. I just wonder where the others who voted for Cena are because I think you are the only one to put up any kind of argument as to why he deserved it. I think we may have some closet Cena fans amongst us.
