I think what has been proved most by Umaga is that an poor/average wrestler can be somewhat credible as a main eventer with a good manager. For me all of Umaga's momentum has come from the fact that AAE has a talent that isn't present very often in modern rasslin.

But having him going in a match against Cena is just stupid at this point. He has to much to lose losing to John, alot of us know that he isent going to take the title and this is just a plot for Cena to become a bigger hero. Umaga should just slow down a little bit, maybe grab the IC title, and then lose it to a younger superstar (or even Carlito) and make another top face for them to play with....then have him fight Cena for the title (win/lose doesnt matter) so Cena doesnt suck away something that someone else needs.
