Seriously, this guy was freakin awesome on the RAW Homecoming last night. I totally spaced out during the RVD-King Booker match just to listen to JBL and Tazz go off on each other. Funny thing is, JBL ALWAYS gets the better of the guy he's ribbing. It happened with JR and the King earlier in the night. The Super Crazy remark was hilarious, too, when Cole was talking about not knowing Crazy spoke english, JBL replied "I saw the guy in the locker room for a year and didn't talk to him once because I didn't care about Super Crazy."

The guy is gold on the mic and I'm glad he stayed with WWE. He's now the No. 1 reason to watch SD!

I hated JBL, as a commentator, at first (mostly because he would spend about half-an-hour, every episode, just saying "All hail King Booker!!" over and over) but he's starting to grow on me. I haven't watched Homecoming, yet, though.

Tazz owned JBL last night. Everything Tazz said was so true and JBL had nothing to come back at. JBL might have owned JR but thats because JR didn't say anything and he dropped it like he should have. The only person JBL ever owns is Cole because Cole is a moron anyways.

It's disappointing that when JBL was champion ppl harped on him a lot. Granted his in ring ability wasnt the best any of us had seen, but I always thought his mic skills were so good that it didnt even matter how good he was in the ring. He's the kinda guy who can get under your skin and that's a great heel quality. Very rare even. I'll never forget when he was in Rey Mysterio's face before their match at Judgement Day last year. Just some great stuff from a naturally born heel

JBL is gold on the mic, and I remember people saying that even if they hated his wrestling skills. He makes a really good heel commentator, although Tazz had a point that the only insult JBL could come up with was to keep calling Tazz short.

Ok, well.. I think JBL is also pretty great on the mic. But like Bulldog would say, and I agree with him, people need to be able to rip on JBL like he does with them or it's just not smart booking. It's not smart to make 99% of the roster look stupid to stroke one man's ego.

I'm here, I'm here. I don't think I've ever said anything but positive stuff about JBL in the past. I like the guy. Not as a promotion carrying World Champion, that post was way above his station because he simply cannot perform to the required level in the ring consistently and definitely not unless you count gimmick style matches (which was what happened in all his PPV title defences).

On the mic he's truly a god and a wonderful colour commentator. So is Taz though, both of them show Lawler up for what he is......an absolute ass that has never come close to getting back to the form he had up to the time he left the group in 2001. He's now a cliche of all the worst parts of his act.

On a related point to the above, I am totally not against performers putting themselves over on the mic. They are larger than life characters that are supposed to do that. Where I feel JBL differs to HHH (the point maybe Brandon was referring to above) is that JBL can take as well as give (e.g Heymans "you're only World Champ because Hunter won't work Tuesdays!") I've seen him make "insider" style comments to performers and I've seen him get them back as well. Hunter is different, he is allowed to make insider comments to the detriment of opponents whilst they are clearly not given the okay to give back to him what they could....and there is a ton of stuff they could give back to him!!
