The Miz went toe to toe with Tatanka last night on Smackdown...
Now admittedly, I'm a little confused as to whether he's supposed to be a heel or a face? Are we supposed to have any genuine interest in this guy JUST because he hosted the diva search?
I know Tatanka IS a bigger guy but it looked like the Miz was having difficulty executing a few of his moves, aside from one nice armdrag...which I guess is all he spent the last two years training and perfecting??
For the most part, Miz was taking HUGE chops to the chest from Tatanka...but even after the sixth or seventh one, he was still just bouncing right back up...just a crap finish. I really want to see the Miz become the new whipping boy of Smackdown.
I am a Mizfit. I enjoy him. I think he did a great job on his debut. It was his first tv match, of course he wouldnt get much offense. It wouldnt look good. Miz beating down on a vet bigger then him? I thought the miz showed great charisma. Of course he has a lot more to learn. I thought he sold the chops very well.
Hoo-Rah!

I'll admit to laughing out loud when he freaked out after his armdrag...like it was the greatest accomplishment of his wrestling career. I think he might have the charisma to be the kind of guy to either get under your skin or crack a smile out of annoyance.
Even though Miz hosted the Diva Search, technically he's a heel. It's just his character. The majority of the casual fans in the building just tend to hate character who acts ****y and such. That's what Miz's character is right now. Automatically using the term Miz-fits, and probably that annoying Hoo-rah stuff.
I'm happy for him though, since its just another superstar who's life long dream is finally achieved and all. Tatanka has been on a losing streak and all, so it was good for the Miz to go over Tatanka.
But.... I haven't seen Smackdown yet. Living in Los Angeles and all... the whole CW crap going on. UPN didn't air Smackdown last night... and CW doesn't debut until Sept 22nd. So the CW will technically air Smackdown (only 1 hour) Sunday morning from 12:30 am - 1:30 am. Not sure where the other hour is... oh well.

Thanks for clearing that up a bit TooCool, and I admit that if I ever had the chance to get into a WWE ring to wrestle (it is a faint lifelong dream), I'd take it up.
When it finally airs out there for you, watch for what I mentioned about the chops...and what I considered a pretty sloppy finish to the match. Who knows, maybe he'll end up improving...I'd almost love to see Miz in a lackee role like The Coach, just with a bit more active wrestling. Or even having Coachman manage the Miz at one point...oh good lord, INSTANT heat generators right there.
He has charisma to be a decent speaker. I didn't think he be big enough to be a wrestler but he doesn't look that bad IMO.

I just watched a Jimmy Jacobs match and he is built very similar to Jimmy Jacobs.

Okay. Smackdown is showing now and the Miz match was just on...
He was definitely impressive. Loving the character and how he mocked Tatanka early on. He did indeed have a nice armdrag and really sold the moves Tatanka did on him. Hell, he took so many chops just like a rookie. Remember Daniel Puder at the Rumble? Puder was horrid and still had to take chops everywhere.
The Miz played his character nonstop throughout the whole match, knew his spots and was definitely agile. This loss for Tatanka was great, because it kept the storyline going for him as well. Miz just had to shove the ref on him, and that's all it took to keep the Tatanka/ref feud going. Miz used his heel way of winning by using the ropes. Good stuff.
I was shocked that part of the crowd was cheering him though, since no one did last week.
