Rep Power: 18 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ECW - top 3 There are obviously a lot of different views about the new ECW. Currently, I know that I WANT to watch ECW but I don't make a huge effort to do so. Below are my top 3 things that are right and wrong with ECW and what top 3 things they could do to improve. See if you guys agree. BTW, my vintage ECW knowledge isn't extensive, so pardon me if i seem a little ignorant The good: CM Punk - his buildup has been unique but effective, and could be a cornerstone of the current ECW Handling of talent - specifically, I refer to the unfortunate luck of temporarily losing RVD and Angle. Consequently, the BIg Show was forced to carry the title with better than expected results in my opinion. Kelly Kelly was also a good find, still cant get over how hot she is whilst taking a cane shot to the head Extreme rules matches - this is a good idea as it gives these matches a bigger feel to them as they are used less frequently. I personally would prefer them a little more frequently than they are used now. PLus, WWE has shareholders to answer to, hence toning down on the extreme style The Bad: Time constraints - probably the biggest reason for most of the problems of ECW. Although not the fault of WWE, they should push for at least a 90 minute slot after their trial period is over Burial of the ECW orginals - whilst I understand the need to create new talent, the vast influx of new talent has caused most of the ECW originals to be burried (e.g. Justin Credible, Balls Mahoney who doesn't get matches, Dreamer, Sandman to an extent, etc) WWE style ECW - basically, ECW doesn't feel like ECW. It just feels like a more hyped up version of velocity or heat. This is a combination of many things - the entrances, the way replays are shown, the commentary (sounds like lines are being fed instead of being pure emotion), in ring promos. Improvements: Gangrel - I am liking what I see with Kevin thorne (much better than mordecai) and ariel. I think they should bring in Gangrel to make them a doiminant force in ECW Get more talent on TV - from what i've seen, which admitedly isn't much, they only use about 10 extremists a week. I personally think that having 25+ min main events in a one hour show is wrong, leaving little time for other talent and consequently ECW looks pretty thin. At least have more multi man tags Give Heyman full creative control of ECW (or close to full control) - Heyman is good! He may be controversial but only he can make ECW live up to its name whilst under to McMahon. | |
