| A Dream PPV I was never a big fan of WCW, but a lot of what I'm about to say is pulled from a PPV I watched at my cousin's house when I was like ten years old... but anyway, this is an idea for something that I think should be put in as an annual PPV for WWE.
Now that ECW is it's own brand, I would say that we start with 60 competitors, 20 from each brand. Then all of the names are put into a drawing (much like the Royal Rumble drawing). Two names are drawn, and they're a tag team; two more are drawn, and those are their opponents. That would mean 15 different tag team matches, which is the biggest problem with my idea; but I'll ignore that for right now. And one thing I would do, if I were in charge, is make the name drawings legit. So the names are ACTUALLY drawn at random, and those matches are set up on the fly. I think that would be a great way to get the internet followers more excited about it, to see exactly what happens. I think it would be sweet, but you know, whatever...
So I would say we could have seven or so of the tag matches, then one brand's title defense; the rest of the tag matches, then another brand's title match. Then, on to round two of the Lethal Lottery.
In this round, all of the tag teams that won have advanced. There are actually two rings set up, side-by-side, actually touching each other. The 30 competitors that have advanced all start in one ring, Battle Royal style. But it's a double-elimination Battle Royal--by that, I mean to be eliminated from the first ring, you're not thrown out to the floor, but rather over the ropes to the second ring. Then, in the second ring, you have to be thrown to the floor, and you're officially gone. When there is just one man left in each of the rings (the obvious advantage going to the man in the first ring, since he'll get a breather while the second ring is being finished) the two remaining wrestlers immediately start a one-on-one match. The winner of that is declared the winner of the entire event, and is guaranteed a Title shot (either of his brand, or of his choice) at the next PPV. Then we'd go to the final brand's Title shot to close the PPV; although it might be a good idea to have all of the Title Matches before the Lethal Lottery is finished; that way, all of the champions are determined, and they all have a specific interest in who wins this, so all of them decide to come to ringside.
Okay, that's all I got. I used to love getting on here and talking about storylines and stuff that I would want to see the WWE use. Ahh, the good ol' days. |
