A Kurt Angle Anthology

Hypothetically WWE are making a Kurt Angle Anthology DVD Set. What matches would you put on there and why. Try not to repeat any that have already been posted either At the end of it, I'll compile it all in one list or something, so we can sit back and smile at it in admiration. This should be a very good list.

I'll start with the most recent one:

World Heavyweight Championship: Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker (No Way Out 2006)

An awesome match that had the great story of Angle constantly weakening Taker's leg. The last sequences with the Ankle Lock from all of Taker's finishers and the random Triangle Chokes really make the match and also prove Taker can still go.

I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

Benoit vs. Angle (Cage match from RAW)

The thing I loved about the cage match is that yeah, it was a brawl and yeah it had some high/innovative spots, but it was also really good from a technical standpoint.. It had the best of everything. I'm sure this won't be the only Benoit/Angle encounter to make the cut either.

I've got that one from Greatest Steel Cage Matches DVD and I've got it in my mind that it was on Smackdown. One of my favourite ever matches this (if it's the same one it's the one that had heel SCSA on colour commentary) Angle went for a moonsault from the cage top that was mindblowing followed with the line "he went for everything, he got nothing" as Benoit rolled away. Benoit then followed this up with a diving headbutt from the other corner of the cage. Just an incredible match and no surprise both guys have had potentially career ending neck injuries.

If I have to add one match, and jesus that is tough since Angle has so many (sneekily I'll have to come back and add more 1 by 1) then I'll go for the triple threat at Mania in 2000 (only excellent match on the card) against Benoit & Jericho with Angle's IC and Euro belts on the line. A great story that did so much, Benoit rightly got the IC belt by pinning Jericho and Jericho then won the Euro belt pinning Benoit. The booking made everyone still look strong, two guys came out with belts and the other came out protected and still looking strong having not been pinned.

Good choice Canine One. Everytime someone says that Mania 2000 was all crap, I immediately point out that match. And yeah, give it a day or so and we'll probably come back to add more matches. Just wanna give everyone a chance to add a different Angle match and offer a different perspective.

I can think of many from the Angle/Benoit feuds. Best matches ever.

I'll go with one of the more obscure ones. Angle vs Benoit Backlash 2001 (I think), Ultimate Submission. I just remember that match blowing me away. Submission after submission, hold after counterhold.. classic stuff.

I can recall not liking that one so much. I think I would probably appreciate it more if I saw it again since I have matured greatly since then!!

Another good choice. Although due to the time breaks it didn't really flow as well as some of the others, i still think it told a great story.

On a quick side note, 2 of my top 4 matches of all time have not been mentioned as of yet.

I really liked the triple threat match Angle had with Triple H and The Rock (can't remember what PPV this was on but it was in the year 2000). I believe this is the match that Angle gets knocked out cold when he's Pedigreed through the announce table.
