Two Championship Titles

I haven't watched wrestling in a good four years or so. Let me just start off by saying that. I'm not new, I'm forgotten.

However, I don't really get this two championship titles thing. What is it? One title for Smackdown and one for RAW? One is called the Heavyweight title and the other is the World Title or some shit like that?

What's the point? Isn't that confusing? Which is the more important title? It seems like it's the one on RAW. But why not just rename the one on Smackdown to the IC or some shit like that? Why have two major belts with one really being half-ass at best?

Well, as you already know I'm sure. That WCW had a major title, and WWE having one as well. The original WWF Title is the WWE Title (Held by Cena on RAW).

When WCW merged together, there was 2 titles, but they merged it together and I believe it was Jericho who became the 1st Undisputed Champion (With 2 major belts).

But yeah, then came the brand split because the roster was just way too big. Smackdown got the WWE Title (The WWF one) and RAW got the World Heavyweight Title (The WCW one). Then came the draft. Cena, who had the WWE Title on Smackdown went over to RAW with the belt and Batista who had the World Heavyweight Title went to Smackdown.

That's why it seems like the RAW title is more important. Probably because that's the original WWF Title. I personally think both titles are still great in their own ways. Because the brand split has finally settled down, so the respective champions still have great credibility.

But in case you're wondering. RAW has the IC Belt, while Smackdown's version of the IC belt is the US Title (from WCW). RAW gets the Women's Title, despite them only having 2-4 divas that can actually wrestle. Smackdown gets the Cruiserweight Title (from WCW) and well... they don't know what the hell they're doing with that division. It's pisspoor.

As for the Tag Team Belts. Smackdown holds the original WWF ones called the WWE Tag Team Champions. While RAW's tag titles are called World Tag Team Champions. So to not get confused. World Heavyweight Title and World Tag Team Titles are from WCW. Just look out for that word, "World".

And you noticed how I said WWE doesn't know what the hell they're doing with the Cruiserweight Division for Smackdown? Raw doesn't know what th hell they're doing with the Tag Division there. Anyway, hope you understood all I typed. If not, I apologize in advance and will try to explain it better (unless someone will do so)

No, that actually explains things very well.

I guess, though, it still seems wierd having two "top" belts. There can only be one top guy in the company right? It doesn't seem possible to have two and in the end it doesn't seem like it is....because one (the WCW title one) is going to be less then the other.

Actually, in my opinion, whatever belt is on Raw seems more important to me. When Triple H had the World Title on Raw, that seemed like the highest prestige title and now with Cena having the WWE Belt on Raw, it seems like the more prestige title.

I agree with that....I do think there are way too many belts in WWE. I personally don't have a problem with two World Championship belts, but I think they could get rid of one of the tag team titles and the US Title.

I wouldn't want to get rid of the U.S. title but I would like to see the tag titles merged. RAW doesn't seem to have time for a tag division.
