Just think ...
Bill Gates has recently decided to take his turn at getting into wrestling. He's signed you to be the man at the top. You've already setup your key administration, a lucrative TV Deal has been signed with Rupert Murdoch and his Fox TV stations. Story lines have been outlined, but in no such definitive way that the individual wrestler names have been placed in actual roles as of this time.
As part of your talent management hunt, Bill Gates has given you all access to his bank account. Money isn't a matter here in the short term. Gaining television viewers is. The question; Who do you want to build your company around? Think about it for a second ...
Stone Cold Steve Austin - You're a newly setup company that is on a hunt to gain viewers. Stone Cold Steve Austin has a religous following, and his marketability for the Stone Cold name is tremendous. Too bad the WWE owns the copyright for it. Now think, Steve Austin is nothing special. He's your normal bald headed, beer belly guy who's injury prone. Given the right gimmick though, his success at the WWE could be replicated.
Kurt Angle - Olympic champion. Has pure charisma, and the look to be on stage. It's a shame that he's injury prone. While anyone could have an injury that could end their career in any wrestling match this guy is at a much increased risk.
The Undertaker - A guy that has had the same gimmick for years. While the WWE still owns the copyright to the name, something similiar could be given to him with ease. Remember though, Undertaker's success draws for him years in experience. Does he have a whole lot of charisma on the mic?
Edge - Experienced great success when partnered with Christian in the tag team division. While he's had some success as a singles partner, he's doesn't have that second guy in the ring with him to tag team jokes off of. Can he handle things by himself, and develop a character to match him in your newly developed wrestling federation?
The Rock - Naturally charismatic, naturally good looking, but he wants to make movies! You've got yourself a deep pocketbook though, do you want to take the risk and sign him to a record breaking deal to get him on your roster?
Some other random person. Perhaps you want to take someone like Test, who has a shot at an upper mid-carder at one point in time in the WWE, but apparently pissed someone up in the upper management. Maybe you want to pull someone out of some indy federation. Who's the man you want to develop your show around, the man that people associate your business with?
