We all know Dave has an injury to his back which he has decided to work through and all credit to him but currently at the next PPV, Armageddon, he is scheduled to team with Mysterio against Show and Kane. Now i'm all for Batista staying on TV but who else would like to see the belt change to someone else until he is recovered enough from his injury to regain the belt? And for the 2nd PPV in a row, The World Title is not being defended and in my opinion, this PPV needs all the help it can get, Orton vs Taker HIAC may be enough to get enough buys but if the World Title was on the line, it would give the PPV a little more credibility. So i say this, WWE Writers, Shape Up Or Ship Out, because your slowly killing a truly great thing.

Rep Power: 15 ![]() | How is this a spoiler? I think everyone knows that he's injured. I think they should keep the belt on him because he may never be this big again and it's not like he can't still defend the title. Besides, even if he did defend the belt I doubt it would help the buyrate much since the PPV's generally don't do that great if they are not one of the Big 4. I say give Batista some time, the World Title doen't need to be defended at every PPV. |

The person who takes the belt off him will be made into a big deal and i think it needs more attention than just a hot-shot title change.

It certainly seems like the idea was to build to Orton-Batista at Mania with their natural rivalry and history. It's one of the only potentially massive Smackdown possible matches, so they seemed to be giving it the slow build. Now they're in a position where this is in jeopardy because Big Dave has a hell of an injury. It's my guess (pure guess) that they would have had a heel Orton take the belt off him at Mania to finish on exactly a year of holding it (even though Mania isn't the usual place for heels to win), but now they are in a quandry. Logically, they would be looking for a heel to win it and maybe to injure Batista in the process so he could finally heel up his injury. Now ideally that would be Orton....but he's stuck in a never ending feud with The Taker and also they won't ideally want to put Orton over Batista and have this match in the 3/4 months lead up to Mania since they are obviously trying to hold it off. So what other heel could you put it on? JBL....Booker T (currently in long term US Title programme) there really isn't much of a choice. Also bear in mind that if this heel is to injure Big Dave for the two months rehabilitation he needs....well Dave is going to come after him when he returns in Jan/Feb which is very close to the build they will want for the Orton feud. It's a real pickle this one!!

But i'm still wanting to see the belt on someone for the time being just so dave can go and rehab his back properly, because its not doing him any good at the moment if he is wrestling week in week out. If he continues on at this rate, i doubt he'll make it to Mania if his back problem is as serious as everyone says.
