King of the Ring

Watchign Angle vs McMahon reminded me of something and that is, that we need the King of the Ring back. It was the perfect tool for elevating a young guy and really tested whether or not he was ready to hit that next level. While there were some horrid choices for KoTR (Mabel and Billy Bitchcakes) there was also some great choices (Austin, HHH, Rock, Angle, Edge).

I would really like to see this back, what do you think?

I agree, not only did it serve to elevate some talent, but also,the tournament itself created some new feuds and gave us matches we would not see under normal circumstances.

I agree, lets add this PPV to the other 16 every year. I too will not be happy until there is a weekly PPV.

Seriously though, pretty much agree. I don't think any of the stars that this PPV "made" e.g Stone Cold, Triple H etc would have not become stars anyway without it but, if done correctly, and not just in the shambolic way they did it when Edge won it (to recap Angle wrestled 3 times on this KoTR with it being very clear that his semi and final were just backdrops to the real match which was his outing with Shane) which gave no credence to the title at all.

Though it did lead to the Billy Bitchcakes comment the next night, so that was good.

I always like the KoTR, as long as they keep that new stip where the winner gets the Summerslam title shot. Otherwise its just kinda, "hey I'm king of the ring!!, I get a crown, no title shots, but a crown!!"

Erm I dont recall The Rock winning it, he got to the final against Shamrock but thats all, you also missed out Brock Lesner(The last ever winner)

I agree that KOTR should return, just replace Badd Blood with it. Even if you only have the semi-finals and finals on the PPV, it's a great idea to have to have the wrestlers compete in a tournament since it can help elevate the winner.

It would be great to have the tourney again, but with the brand extension they killed it after one try. Considering the extension, the tourney would be good b/c then would make more of a wildcard who the #1 contender to the title is on either show.

I'd like to see it back, but as it first was. The whole tourney in one night, not just the semi finals and finals. I want all 3 rounds held on the PPV. Those were the best KOTR's.
