I suppose you could make other arguments for biggest ego in wrestling such as Bret Hart refusing to lose the title in Canada or HBK refusing to lose to Bret after winning his first heavyweight title before he become born again but Trips, Hogan, and Austin are the guys that immediatelly come to mind when I think of ego in professional wrestling. Reading the latest rumor about Austin refusing to appear at Taboo Tuesday because Coach was going to be put over (even with heavy interference) got me thinking which one of these all time greats was the worst at putting over other talent. For me I say its Hogan by a landslide but I'm interested to hear everyone elses thoughts on the topic.
Yeah gotta be Hogan with HHH in second and Austin at a very very distant third. I mean come on this was not a wrestler they were wanting SCSA to put over it was Jonathan Coachman? What is so egotistical about that? I don't think Conway would job to Coachman.

Austin has good reason to not want to put Coach over, and Triple H earned his main event status so he has a right to have an ego.
It's Hogan for me. He has almost no wrestling skill and uses the same promos that he used 20 years ago, but he knows the fans love him and can use that to his advantage like he did by refusing to lose to HBK at SummerSlam.

Almost all wrestlers have an ego. You have to have one to stay on top in this business. I don't think it's a bad thing. We'd all likely do the same things Hogan, Austin, Triple H and others have done to protect their spots. Why would you want to give up your spot to someone else? Plus, the money's better at the top.
As for my answer, I'll say Austin b/c at least Triple H and Hogan don't walk away when they don't get their way.
Oh, and Undertaker needs to be added to this discussion b/c he's just as bad as the other guys mentioned.
Hogan was refusing to show up at SummerSlam unless he was booked to win the match. Go back and look at WCW for other big egos: Nash for example.

I can't believe Triple H is even in this discussion for one. HBK has a much bigger ego than Triple H.
As far as the people listed, Austin does have a big ego, but Hogan is the all-time asshole in the world of sports entertainment. All I have to say is the word "Summerslam" and it puts this argument to rest.
I agree with you Blitz about Michaels IF his last match had been at Wrestlemania 14, but since he's come back he seems more willing to put over young talent, even if they have not been established. I mean he put over Duvari for gods sake.lol
I agree with one of the above posts that said that all main eventer's have an ego to a certain extent but I would put forth one wrestler that to my knowlege has never seemed to have an issue with it. The Rock.
I know he hasn't wrestled in years but even when he, along with Hunter and Austin were bringing the WWF to unprecidented levels of sucess in regards to ratings, he never seemed to have issues putting other people over. Rhino, Hurricane, frigging Al Snow, he put them all over at one time or another knowing that these losses were not going to effect his own star power. When Jericho was finally getting his world title push Rocky put him over 5 times on television and ppv in less than a sixth month period, a couple losses being clean defeats, something unheard of when a heel is being pushed against a top face. Rock as well as Foley's willingness to enhance their oppenents really made me appreciate what they were able to do more in retrospect during the Attitude era and shows you don't need to be packaged as invincible to be one of the top stars.
Great point about The Rock. He definitely was the consumate professional.
Out of the three you mentioned, it is definitely Hogan. Does not help anybody but himself when he comes back.
BTW Austin had a right to be pissed with the possible booking and Hunter isn't that big an asshole.

Hogan by far, if things weren't done to Hogan's liking he would not go through with it. He only looked out for his interest and not what was best for the company.
