Is Cena the worst wrestler to ever hold a major title?

Just curious. I'm leaning towards yes here, the guy's ability stops as soon as he enters the ring. Then there's the whole "he completely stole SCSA's persona right down to the body gestures" thing.

And please...get a real finisher. The FU makes Slaughter's old noogie finisher look deadly in comparism. Since he ripped everything else off Austin, might as well give him the stunner eh?

Anyway, I know there's plenty of Cena detractors here so I'm curious to see just how bad anyone thinks this guy is. Any time he comes on the tube its "Hm, do I have any icecream left?" time for me.

I haven't watched wrestling since Abe Lincoln won the NWA title.

However, I never fully understand why this guy gets crapped on so much. Brawlers have scored well in high places before in WWE.

Is he really worse than Hogan? Before you say yes, it's impossible, and at best it can be a tie.

I've never seen him nor do I plan to but it's a mystery to me why he gets so much heat from certain people.

For one thing, he has to be carried through EVERY match. His matches also follow the same formula everytime he wins, he gets his ass kicked for 95% of the match and then gets 2 or 3 moves at the end for the win. His finisher(the FU) is also the weakest looking death valley driver ever. Go watch Perry Saturn or anyone else use the move to see how it SHOULD look.

Not counting the celebrities and McMahon and Russo but just counting regular wrestlers, I would have to say that Cena is the absolute worst ever. I cannot wait until he loses the belt. I can not see how anyone could even actually like this guy. He is the WORST!

No way is Cena the worst. Sure, he's subpar in the ring, but when has quality ringwork been the main focus of WWE pushing somebody? I can think of several guys who not only were bad in the ring, but also lacked Cena's ability to speak and charisma (non-wrestlers not included).

1) Kevin Nash/Diesel (an all-around ugh)
2) The Ultimate Warrior (charisma in the ring yes, wrestling skill no, promo skills hell no)
3) Sgt. Slaughter (given the most topical gimmick perhaps ever during his championship tenure, but still no skills to back it up)
4) Sid (see Nash)
5) DDP (lowcard scrub becomes WCW's desperate attempt to draw money)

I'd rather watch John Cena than any of these five guys any day. Cena's not great, but he's the best babyface they have right now.

I would rather watch anyone than Cena. I guess it is just personal preference but I think Cena is the worst hands down. I can't stand him.

No way can Cena be the worst, plain and simple David Arquette. That whole thing was just a joke. Cena is watchable at times, but to say worst ever no, but he surely is not the best either.

Point taken about guys like Arquette, Russo, and even Vince McMahon. Lets exclude those guys (and others like them) for the sake of discussion here, since they really weren't/aren't wrestlers.

For what its worth, I think Warrior was more enjoyable to watch in the ring than Cena.
