Your type of finish to a match
So it's coming to the end of the big 30 minute PPV match, the crowd are hot and somebody is just about to hit the finishing move to send end a classic.
But what do you generally prefer?
Does the match finish better for you with a submission move? Ankle Lock, Walls of Jericho, Sharpshooter, Crossface hell even Masterlock.
Or are you blown away more by a KO finish? Stunner, Sweet Chin Music, Tombstone, Pedigree...........

I prefer a submission. It's great watching the person in the hold struggling to break out of it or hold out untill the bell rings and can save them.

I like them both but I think it adds more of "boxing feeling" to it when its a knockout, you really need to pay attention because you know something is most likely coming soon.
As far as the submission goes. Its cool when the champ taps out or when its Benoit. Other than that ehhh. Its ok....

I did go for submission myself based mainly on almighty finishes to last years WMXX Triple Threat and this year at Mania with HBK and Angle, both awesome matches that were made that much more special with the prolonged finish.
Sometimes a KO finish happens that really is brilliantly done though, for example that cracking match on Raw between Shelton and Shawn a couple of months back when Shawn hit Sweet Chin Music as Shelton launched at him off the ropes.
Realistic looking KO's can be good, but I get put off them if the move isn't impactful enough. For example, Sweet Chin Music alludes that the opponent is knocked out, it looks good, the Rock Bottom or the FU look lame...they just look like the opponent is being laid down.

Admittedly, a sudden swift finish can be very exciting - such as an Eddie Frog Splash, or an RKO - the RKO that won Randy the title came from nowhere, that was a great finish. Stunners are great, I thought the Rock Bottom was sweet because it was so quick.. and the F5 was one of the best finishers ever - took a couple of seconds to set up, was powerful, impactful, and looked painful enough to finish you off.
But an ankle lock finish to a match is unbeatable. Angle locks it in, the opponent wriggles, the anticipation of whether their struggle to reach the bottom rope will be successful or not, Angle's intensity.. and for that alone, submissions win. The Sharpshooter comes in a close second for the best submission finisher, but the Ankle Lock is just awesome.

Wow, though choice. While I like submission finishers a lot, for some reason I prefer the KO ones. I guess I like seeing someone laid out for the 1-2-3. It's always exciting to see people kick out of finishers too. You can't really get that with submissions. They either get to the rope, reverse it right away, or something else.

I prefer the "KO" to the submission for a few reasons. First, most submission holds aren't done out of the blue like, say, a Stone Cold Stunner, a RKO, or a Rock Bottom - they require more setup, so that takes down the pace a notch. Benoit's Crossface is the obvious exception to this rule (he's the exception to a lot of rules, though). Second, in order to not make your opponent look weak, they have to struggle to get out of the hold for a bit before tapping out. Again, takes down the pace a bit. Some guys are great at selling a submission hold so that it keeps the excitement up (Triple H at WM20, for example - again, Benoit), but in general, they just don't make it as exciting as a high impact move for the 1-2-3.
