What would WWE have to do for you to care about SD! ?

Lets face it.. the Fri. timslot is a killer.

However, you guys all have Tivo or a VCR w/ a timer.. You could all watch SD! if you really wanted to. So could I.

But I have no interest in it and neither do you. I love Ken Kennedy and I love the Ortons. Other than that I could care less about their characters...

So what would they have to do? Give you PPV style cards? create more characters? Is it just all one big creative mess? Move more people over to SD! to make it a bit more fair?

Give us some feedback on the current SD! product and what you'd like to see.

Well where I live Smackdown does not come on Friday nights. It has been playing here on Saturday nights form 8:00 until 10:00.

I was always against recombining the brands, but now I think it is the only fix. I mean there are not enough superstars for two shows any more. I don't see any way to fix Smackdown without Raw suffering. I say just get rid of Smackdown all together.

As long as they're on Fridays, I don't see Smackdown drawing more of an audience than it currently has. So, I guess my answer would be make it not on Friday's. I don't feel that the writing is any worse or the talent is of lower quality than Raw, but Fridays aren't a good night for any programming. I think that when WWE's deal with UPN runs out next fall, they should lobby hard for USA to give them a Wednesday night time slot - that'd be better IMO.

Oh yeah, Smackdown should go live too if they are going to attempt to save it. Better night and it has to be live. Yeah that's it.

We all know the answer would be to make SD! live (adds to the surprise element) but since that's not going to happen, my answer would be to just produce good storylines/angles and have 2-3 good TV matches each week.

I like Batista and Eddie, but their "feud" so far has been terrible. Who wants to watch two "friends" wrestle? Hopefully they'll move this feud into a new direction soon.

I'm liking what they've done with Orton on SD!, he's been re-established as a big-time player in WWE and by dragging out the feud with 'Taker, it makes it easier for WWE to book the (hopefully) Batista-Orton feud leading up to WM 22.

More cruiserweight matches would also be a good idea. Like I've said before, SD! has a good roster and the show would be a lot better if the wrestlers had some good material to work with.

I don't know how they would do it timeslot wise, but they need to go live. At the moment, the pre-taped show with fake pops and boos make it look like a "B" show. They have some talent on the card, one only has to look at the likes of Eddie, Rey, Christian, Benoit, Kennedy, Cruiserweights and so on. Also, the writing has been getting better, the Eddie/Batista story has been good so far (anal intrusions excluded), but at the moment, its just the atmosphere of the show that makes it unwatchable.

I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

Right now the two biggest changes they need to make are to make the show live and and move it to either Thursday or Wednesday, the writing is starting to get better now that Dusty Rhodes is part of the writing team.

I havne't seen much in the past few weeks since it's always bene preempted for baseball or something like that. I also have troulble catching it on fridays since i'm sometimes out. the ideal thing would be for it to be on a better day, and to make it live. Tuesdays' or thursday's would probably be less. The show isn't as exciting for some reason. I think they should wrestlers should join stables and have more storylines. Raw seems to be full of those.

A few brief ideas -

1 - Have a decent play by play guy alongside the very good Tazz

2 - Change GM. Long doesn't cut it for me.

3 - Be a completely different show to Raw. When S/D was outperforming Raw they were putting on a show (written by Heyman at the time) that featured longer matches, really highlighted the wrestling element, dealt in very few promos and interviews. All the while the show looks like "just another version of Raw but not as good" it will suffer. It has to have a very different identity.

4 - The company itself needs to show it cares about S/D. All the while it treats the show like it's illegitimate red haired son fans aren't going to be attracted to it.

5 - Goes without saying that I believe they should push cruisers on the show and allow them to perform as they can.

6 - Build properly the feud between Raw and Smackdown. Stop doing these half hearted nods to a feud and really concentrate on building it. It's what the fans want to see (witness the stand off between the rosters at Rumble) and would give Vince a chance to show S/D is competitive with it's big brother.

There is really only one thing i'd have to save smackdown and thats heyman as head writer. He could surely bring it out of the shit and make it something worth watching.
