Well, I don't want to get into a back and forth about announcing abilities - because I don't know anything about that. But, I can say that I have grown used to JR's voice, and have come to associate him with RAW. It's going to be hard to accept this change. So, is he great? I dunno. But he sure is/was my favorite announcer :frown2:

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Remember when the King left WWE over the company firing his wife at the time, and then after the Invasion angle, brought him back? At first everyone was excited that he returned because he was one of the two "Voices of RAW." But, then everyone started complaining about how is shtick had grown stale. I think that is along the same thread of what's going on with JR. He has been a prominent part of WWE Raw for many years, but I think this is his time to "hang up the hat." He has a very good posistion with the company backstage, and will still be working with RAW in some form, I am sure. But, perhaps it is time for a fresh face....err....voice. Personally, I think they should bring Tazz over, as he has become an amazing color guys over the years. Unlike The King, he accually explains the moves and the logic behind them, providing insight into what is going on in the ring. Move King and Coach over to Smackdown and bring in Tazz and a quaility straight anouncer. Hell, I would even take Michael Cole at this point. I think the WWE is trying to dawn yet another "new era" of wrestling, and I think new voices are a good step towards that. (Though going from the Superstars era, to the Attitude Era, to The Crappy Storylines and Younger Talent Pushed Way Too Quickly era, may not be the best move, but what do I know? I am not a selfmade billionare.)

Rep Power: 19 ![]() | Jim Ross is probably the last true wrestling commentator in the business. It's too bad that WWE can't find a real one to replace him instead of some young punk with a shitty hair-cut that doesn't know what an armbar is. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | WWE will find someone else to take JR's place, we can't expect the guy to be around on TV forever. Hell, I still don't think that JR & King can even touch my personal favorite duo, Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan. But, I've moved on from that golden era, and we will all get by without Jim Ross on PBP. As long as Vince doesn't come back to the announce booth, then we'll be OK. ![]()

Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bah! I'm just not ready for this change, and I don't really like the reason for it (just to get a better looking guy to announce). I have to admit though, I have not watched RAW much for a while, and I don't know if I wouldn't be sick of JR and Lawler had I been watching regularly. As someone who gets to watch once or twice a month, when I tune in I would like to see/hear something familiar. But what do I know, I was also pissed when McMahon stopped announcing... but hey! I was only 12! |

Rep Power: 15 ![]() | I used to like Vinnie Mac as an announcer too, but looking back I wonder why considering how over the top he was. |
