Rep Power: 85 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | WWE Top 10 for 10/3 I'll be posting a weekly top 10 list of both the RAW and SD! brands. This will help people keep up to speed on what's going on in the world of WWE. It will read like a "contenders" list for each brand's respective World Championship. Sorry, nobody cares about the other titles. Feel free to comment. The list compiled in this post was based on a poll of one person. Me. Enjoy. SD! Top 10 for the week of 10/3 World Heavyweight Champion Batista - Batista's been having a lot of fun with Eddie Guerrero of late. This past week on SD! he and Guerrero teamed up to take on LOD2K5 for the tag titles. They lost by DQ. It's obvious that Batista knows that Eddie is trying to get in his head w/ the "friends" ploy. Funny enough, it's the champion who has gotten into Eddie's head. Their match @ No Mercy should be a good one, at this time I don't see Eddie coming out with the title but that's subject to change. 1. Eddie Guerrero - Thinking back to early 2004, WWE has really dropped the ball with Eddie. He was by far the most over person on the SD! brand at the time, so what do they do? They let a career mid-carder hold the championship for 9 months and turn their biggest face (Eddie) into a heel when everyone wanted to cheer for him. Finally, Eddie is back in the main event picture and the #1 contender. It'd be nice to see him go over Dave but I don't think it'll happen. 2. Undertaker - The Taker has sky rocketted up the list here in the last couple weeks while being involved in the most entertaining feud on the brand w/ Randy Orton. This past week Taker took on "Cowboy" Bob Orton (Randy's father) in a tune up for the match @ No Mercy (which will be a Casket Match, Both Ortons vs. Taker). Taker won this match fairly easy. I expect that Randy will win the match at the PPV and get ready for a world title program but we'll see. 3. Randy Orton - Randy has been everywhere this week including RAW Homecoming where he RKO'd not one legend, but two, in that of Roddy Piper and Mick Foley. Randy was mostly looking for payback against Piper because as Randy said, Piper got all the glory in his alliance during the 80's with "Cowboy", while his father got nothing. If Randy defeats the Deadman at the PPV I expect he'll be at least #2 on this list. 4. Chris Benoit (United States Champion) - After a series of less than 30 seconds squash wins against former champion Orlando Jordan, Chris Benoit faces his toughest task as U.S. Champion when he defends it in a fatal four way match @ No Mercy. Benoit has brought respect back to a title that was mostly forgotten about previously. I expect he'll retain but we'll see. 5. Rey Mysterio - So what do you get after beating Eddie Guerrero 6 out of 7 times? Well, if your name is Rey Mysterio you get pushed back down the card. Rey has suffered some recent defeats since the long feud w/ Guerrero but has a chance to get back on track with a win against former WWE Champion JBL. 6. JBL - So I guess the question is, does JBL work as a mid-carder? Well, he has so far. His segments making fun of Spanish culture and Rey's heritage have been pretty entertaining. It's pretty light hearted stuff, so I see no problem with it. JBL gets his chance to get get back in a main event fued if he can overcome Rey at the PPV. Lets hope he stays out of the title picture for a while. 7. Ken Kennedy - It takes a lot to get past the top guys on this list but Ken is very close. That's impressive for a rookie who hasn't been on tv for more than a couple of months. He's shown main event caliber charisma, and has a very unique finisher off the ropes. He also has an unbeaten streak that's more impressive than the 1st hundred guys Goldberg beat in WCW. Watch out for this guy, he's got a lot of tools. t8. Booker T, Christian, and Orlando Jodan - There is a three-way tie here for the final spots. Neither one of these three have shown thy ar above the other. They've all suffered brutal losses in the past weeks. They all have a chance to strike gold @ No Mercy vs. U.S. Champ Chris Benoit in the fatal way. Will they? Probably not. If any one of them did beat Benoit, I'd have to say Captain Charisma himself, Christian. This guy is so damn talented, but has been underutilized in this company for what seems like an eternity. It's getting late. I'll be back with RAW tomorrow. Hope you enjoy reading my work. Fel free to comment on anything I've mentioned.

Rep Power: 85 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | RAW Top 10 for the week of 10/3 WWE Champion John Cena - This week on WWE Homecoming John Cena defeated Eric Bischoff in a No DQ match to retain the title. I was hoping for a swerve but we didn't get much of anything. It still looks as though Cena will be defending the championship against Kurt Angle, after all Angle did beat him at Unforgiven. What else can I say about John? He's boring. It's not his fault though, as WWE has given him nothing but a rehash of an angle that's overused in the wrestling business. Hopefully, WWE will get creative with him soon. 1. Kurt Angle - Kurt fought to a draw in the 30 minute Iron Man Match against HBK. It was a good well-pace match-up but didn't live up to their previous bouts. Will Kurt and HBK have another rubber match to settle this once and for all? I hope so, it'd suck for this to stay unresolved. With Kurt having a win over Cena and fighting HBK to a draw, he's still number one on RAW. 2. HBK - What to do with HBK? That's the question. First, he gets punked out by Hulk Hogan and now he's in limbo with Angle who appears to have better things to do than wrestle The Showstopper. HBK continues to be an MVP for the RAW brand in-ring wise, but still doesn't have a solid program to work with. Could he even be on a bigger decline? Maybe so, as the young kids are getting their push. 3. Edge - So who's the 2nd biggest heel on the RAW brand? No, not The Game, at this point in time it's Edge. Edge defeated Matt Hardy in a ladder match on Homecoming. With Hardy out of the way and hanging on to the MITB contract, there are many options in front of him. I've been calling for Edge to beat Cena for the WWE Title for six months now, but it doesn't look like that'll happen. It'll b interesting to see where Mr. Money in the Bank goes from here. 4. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (Intercontinental Champion) - Heading into Homecoming Flair was on a roll. After being in the shadow of HHH for years he stepped back into the spotlight and captured the I.C. belt from Carlito. This week however, was a different story for the dirtiest player in the game. After defeating Carlito and Masters, Flair was attacked by his partner and best friend Triple H. Flair was battered and bloodied by his former stable mate. It'll be interesting to see what Flair has to say this week about the whole situation. 5. Triple H - It will be equally interesting to see what The Game has to say about this whole Flair situation. Triple H made his comeback after a lengthy vacation and it did him some good. He was pumped and energized like I hadn't seen him in a long time. Why is he so high up on the list already? because he's made an impact while others have struggled. 6. The Big Show - This man hasn't been this over in years, maybe never. It's like he can do no wrong and has made a transition into the next Andre the Giant quite smoothly. He's been booked extremely well in the last few weeks defeating a number of stars in handicap matches as well as squashing Snitsky. I don't expect Show to get much higher on the list here as he's become more of a special attraction in recent months, but it's the best thing that could've happend to him. 7. Chris Masters - It's weird seeing Masters this low on the list but after his loss to HBK he really hasn't accomplished much. On Homecoming his team lost in almost squash fashion. I'm sure the Masterpiece will be back in form shortly though, he is the golden boy of the brand. 8. Carlito - Much like Masters, Carlito also has accomplished much in recent weeks. Carlito took the fall in the tag match and is why he's a notch below Masters here. Both men need fresh feuds ASAP. Carlito still has a ton of potential however. 9. Rob Conway - The guy got his ass kicked by a bunch of legends on Homecoming but that didn't hurt his stock. I still don't see this gimmick working, but he has been winning some matches of late which is more than I can say for anyone below him on this list. 10. Shelton Benjamin - Kerwin White could have easily been in this slot, but since Shelton has won 2 of their 3 classics, he gets the nod. I'm not sure what it is, but Shelton's stock has fallen dramatically even since he lost the I.C. Title. I can't remember the last time a guy fell down th card so quickly. Remember, he had an eight month title reign, this wasn't/isn't a chump. Still regarded by many as the best pure athlete in WWE, I pray Shelton gets this losing streak turned around, which basically means, do SOMETHING with him WWE. Jesus.
