Shelton Benjamin: Do you care?

I hear a lot of "Shelton is the best athlete in WWE ever.." Mostly done by JV, but I've gone through that whole rant myself. I love the guy in the ring, and I think he'll always have a job because of how talented he is out there.

However, I get the feeling that nobody cares about him. Maybe it's because of the lines he gets from the writers, maybe it's because of the crappy storylines he's been stuck in, but it's obvious people could care less about him..

We've gone over how he should be heel, he should talk like this, act like that..

But, what if he just sucks at playing a character? What if he doesn't have that kind of talent? Would you still want to see him for just his in-ring work?

I think shelton is a great athlete. No doubt about that. As for the best athlete ever in the wwe? Im not so sure.

Again, i saw him live on saturday, and he had a pretty good match, I enjoyed it. The crowd was so so in it. He needs more charisma. Once he gets the charisma he needs, he is set for a long long time with the WWE I beleive.

But people don't always aquire charisma, sometimes you either have it or you don't. What if he never gets better, will you still love him? Will you care about him?

Yes, Because I love his ring work. But not everyone is like me and enjoys more of the wrestling part of the show. Id like him even more though with some charisma.

One of the main things you learn is having charisma. Without it, odds are, you wont go too far.

I think TNA could do a better job w/ him as he'd likely get a similar role to other guys who aren't super charismatic but have that physical skill that make people want to see them.

that being said it's a rare case where a man would be better off in TNA, sure a jobber can become a main eventer (cough cough Rhyno, my dad is pissed about the Rhyno push haha.) and you're a big fish in a small pond w/ TNA. but anyone would have to want that exposure that , at this moment, only WWE can offer.

what was I saying, oh yeah, he's quite good in the ring so I like him. as for being a character, I could care less about Shelton. so it all evens out.

Kind of getting bored of Shelton, really. He's a great mat techinican, but they should give him a gimmick or something.

Shelton needs a gimmick bad. But I am not sure he could pull it off with his not so great mic work. I will always enjoy seeing him in the ring, maybe he should just not talk and wrestle? I think so. He will never be nothing more than a mid carder.

Damn, Shelton is one greatest pure WWE athletes ever...he's just as good, or because of his youth, possibly better than Kurt Angle...if he were to get some charisma goin, there's no doubt that he could develop into a huge superstar...some people actually acquire charisma buy their built appearance or in-ring abilty, and Shelton has those...he just gotta be put against some top card guys and get some sort of gimmick...

Yeah, Benjamin has to be one of the best in the WWE. He is one of my favorite IC champions. He just needs one opportunity ( such as WM21 ) to stand out. Hell RVD is horrible on the mic, Brock sounded like a big baby, so my boy should be fine. I think hes is definately the future of the WWE. I will admit that he needs to improve him mic skills and develope some sort of character. Maybe he should act like that cornball Kennady in order to get over with yall. Or maybe he should consider Chavos gimmik????????

I think he needs to start by getting on TV.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!
