RAW Thoughts for 9/26

Mr. Kennedy

It could have been better, but tonight was meant to set up the return to USA Network.

Pros:
-Trish finally defended the Womens Title and then kicked Canide Michell's butt
-Towards the end they really stuck it to Spike TV by mentoning the move to USA several times
-They did a terriffic job promotinh WWE Homecoming next week
-Based on tonight's events Kurt Angle will win next week's Iron Man Match and Edge will win the Ladder Match.

Cons:
-Shelton Benjamin lost to Kerwin White
-Conway Vs. Eugene, need I say more?
-The Tag Team Champions nearley lost by pinfall to Val Venis & Viscera
-Candice Michelle spoke on the mic
-Spike TV censored them saying USA Network early on

Overall I liked it, and like I said this week was mainley to set up up the Homecoming on USA Network next year and I thought they did a good job of that.

Frankly I thought WWE's insistance on sneaking in the mention of USA was annoying and unprofessional.

WWE is leaving Spike TV. Television is a business, WWE left Spike beacause they thought USA was the better offer. Spike has every right to not want to promote another chanels programing. When Buffy went from WB to UPN they weren't sticking "watch Buffy on UPN" notes all over the place during the brodcast. WWE thought they could be clever and compliment Spike then sneak in a USA mention, then they thought they could show signs saying so and Spike TV wouldn't notice. Then they got pissy when Spike TV apparenty wasn't as stupid as they assumed.

It annoyed me beacause no other show who moved from one channel to another was allowed to plug the move to the competition. But WWE clearly thinks the rules every other show on the entertainmetn world they so desperatley want to be considered a part of don't apply to them.

I am not sure why Spike gave up near the end on censoring them. Maybe they just fell asleep, maybe WWE got them to agree to it.

But either way they had no right to feel they should stick it to Spike TV. WWE left them after all. The fact they only gave Spike TV their props right before trying to sneak in mention of USA says all I need to know about the WWE. Granted what's done is done now. But WWE really doesn't seem to get pulling stunts like the man reason they have such a bad reputation.

I think WWE saying they were moving to U.S.A. was completely justified. Spike T.V. has been advertising TNA during RAW for several weeks now. They showed WWE no respect.

They also advertised the UFC fight at least 3 times during Raw which is even more disrespectable.

Spike deserved the treatment they got from WWE for one reason. They aired promos about UFC that downplayed sports entertainment. Are you in the revenge mold? Maybe not, but WWE saw this as an opportunity to get back at Spike for what they had done.

We discussed this before. Spike should have never aired UFC promos during RAW claiming that it was better to watch than sports entertainment, esp. when Spike has a deal with TNA. I wonder how TNA felt about those commercials.

WWE was justified because Spike said "screw you" first, and WWE wanted to save face.

As far as RAW goes, it sucked.. Watch Homecoming!

I didn't see RAW this week, since I moved to a new house and we haven't got cable yet. I don't even think I'll have it in time for Homecoming! Which means I'll have to go to my parents house for the night!

Even If I did have cable I wouldn't have watched it anyway since I went to a gig and then out for the night.

Pros: Vince McMahon, he just makes the show that much more important just being there.

Main Event Match, it was fun for what it was worth.

Trish Stratus, wrestling and defending the womans title.

Rob Conway, i like the way wwe is using him, this guy has a ton of potential.

Promoting wwe homecoming. Excellent job of selling it like a major ppv..

Bischoff, they did a good job of making him look like a serious threat to Cena's world title

Cons: Eugene, wtf i'm over his character. Its going nowhere and i cant take him seriously anymore.

Kerwin White or Chavo ? make up your damn mind.

Shelton Benjamin losing to white. I dont get it. The ending of the match just came out of the blue??? just lost on the whole thing.

Ric Flair and the sledgehammer. It had HHH all over it

Spike TV. I thought they would have done more for wwe on there last show, but they just sat there and did nothing, they are going to regret letting them go over the long run. Even though i think they really didn't do much for them since they came on to Spike Tv.

If it wasn't for WWE, Spike TV would still be a small channel that nobody cares about. WWE did more for Spike TV than Spike TV did for them.
