Unforgiven Thoughts

Well.. most of you probably didn't see the show but you can still comment on the outcomes or where you think RAW goes from here with just two weeks until the big move to USA.

Here's my thoughts and some predictions...

-Carlito/Flair. At first you'd think I'd be upset that Flair beat Carlito here, but I'm not for two reasons. 1) The way Flair won was interesting because it was more of a Carlito screw up (choking on his apple bit) than it was Flair dominating him. 2) I think this will put over the I.C. Title big time.. Flair was so entertaining in his backstage segments as well. Carlito will be ok.

Prediction: Flair has a nice little run and the belt gains back it's prestige. Carlito wins the title back at some point.

-Divas tag match. I'll give Ash credit, she wants to learn, but she needs a lot of work. Trish looked excellent in her return and you can just tell she's going to make a big difference here in this div. The crowd was hot for this match, if Trish wasn't in there they probably would have gone to the shitter.

Prediction: Victoria eventually will beat Trish to continue this feud. Trish will go on the chase against this new female stable.

Snitsky/Big Show. Big Show won in a squash, didn't really surprise me. Match was kept short.

Prediction: Big Show takes time off and comes back for a "Monster" push. The fans love him right now.

Kerwin/Shelton: Not horrible. The right man definitely won.

Prediction: Kerwin becomes a jobber for the most part, Shelton starts getting wins again. He's too talented to be kept down.

Matt/Edge. Great match with some really good high spots. It was nice to see Matt win.

Prediction: This feud will continue. They've had two great matches and one lackluster one. Why stop now? The fans are still eating it up and Matt is still getting cheers.

H&R/M&C. I have to say I'm glad M&C won the titles. They were impressive, and they finally did a double team move to win a match.

Prediction: They keep the titles for a while and these two teams fight again, 1,000,567 more times.

Masters/HBK. Did Masters need the win? It would have been huge if he got it, but he still looked strong in defeat. It wasn't booked that bad, and The Masterlock wasn't broken. Good Match.

Prediction: Masters was impressive for a man his size. I think he'll still be a star. HBK? Not sure where he's going.. but he's HBK, he'll find something.

Angle/Cena: It was ok. Not great but it was solid. I hate DQ finishes though, can't stand them.

Prediction: Well.. Bischoff was going to say something but got F'ued before he could. With Angle getting the win by DQ he's automatically still the #1 contender. Fans will vote on a stipulation for their match at Taboo Tuesday, and I'm hoping Angle wins the title. I really don't see how they could still have Cena champion after that unless he moves on to Triple H, but to me, it'd be a little early for that to happen..

Great review. I dont really watch wrestling, but Unforgiven seemed allright from what you are saying. I like Cena, but Angle is just too good not to win the Title again. As much as I do like John Cena, I do hope Angle becomes Champion. He should be the flag bearer for Raw and noone else in my opinion (dont even say HHH).
Once again, great read.

I thought a win for Carlito would have been huge for him, but Flair winning gave him another belt in his illustrious career and adds a lot of prestige to the belt.

Great to see Trish back, I agree with JV that Candice Michelled is the most useless diva in wrestling. They need to fire her.

I can understand why Big Show wants some time off but he's really over right now, but he hasn't really done much other than battling Snitsky so maybe when he comes back they can give him something good to do.

I like the Kerwin White gimmick but it's starting to become annoying, and instead of being a top star Shelton Benjamin is stuck battling Kerwin/Chavo who had basically become a jobber.

I like Edge and am waiting for him to become WWE champion, I knew this was coming but i'm still dissapointed that Matt Hardy won.

I like The Hurricane but H&R are horrible tag champs in a horrible division.

It sounds like Masters still looked strong despite losing, so that helps a little. I like both of them but Masters is the future.

I'm glad Angle won, even though he didn't get the title. At Taboo Tuesday they have to give Angle the belt. At least they didn't make Angle look weak by losing.

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's just some observations of the show. JV said it right in his review TNA's PPVs are about 1000 time better than what WWE is doing right now, except no one knows about it. Unforgiven is no exception. It was RAW with a different stage set. I think it is high time to nix these monthly PPVs, they don't have the talent anymore. I have no problem with Carlito losing his belt, hes younger than I am, he has lots of time to recover from the loss and its not like Ric Flair means anything anymore becuase WWE has tarnished that legacy so bad. Hardy and Edge can actually have a match where Hardy is not treated like a bitch the whole time, and he even wins!!! Holy Crap!!!! Tag Belts, no one cares. Benjamin/Chavo, no one cares. Women's match, no one cares. Snitsky/Show, no one cares. HBK/Masters, I don't care, other people might. Masters is the modern day Lex Luger, they should give him the torture rack instead of a full nelson, its not that devastating of a move. HBK wins thank god. Angle/Cena I would love to scrap this entire run with Cena as champ, seiously I am so tired and bored with it. Its Vince/Austin redux. It sucks. Put the belt on Angle and send Cena to Velocity with Bradshaw to form some retarted odd couple comedy tag team. WWE currently makes my head hurt. Old ECW tapes are like my prozak.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!

I don't think they should nix the monthley PPV's, just recombine the rosters so you have a larger talent pool.

I didnt watch this one but from the sounds of it thats a good thing. I cant believe they ended with a DQ finsih... for the main event too what the hell?? Was glad to see Flair win the title hopefully he'll bring some meaning back to the title. It'd be cool to see him and HHH fight over it... even tho HHH is way above the IC title I'd rather see him win that again then win the world title again. And thank god Shelton won!!! I was just talkin to a friend about this and I think it'd be awesome to have Kurt Angle win at Taboo Tuesday and have Angle vs Benjamin at Survior Series. It'd be a wicked good match, it'd elevate Benjamin which he deserves and there is already history between the two with the team angle from way back and Benjamin and Angle already had a great match not long ago. Benjamin could argue or challange Kurts saying he's the best wrestler or whatever.

I enjoyed most of the show, except for the end of the title match. Match-by-match:

Carlito-Flair was fun to watch, I was genuinely surprised that Flair won, and the backstage bits were hysterical. Good stuff

Diva tag match was ok. Nothing special really. But Trish did look good in the ring

Show-Snitsky was probably the worst match on the card, but even that was watchable. Show is probably as over with the crowd now as he's ever been, and I don't mind watching him in semi-squashes.

Hardy-Edge was the match of the night. Good match, and I'm certain the feud isn't over yet.

Benjamin-Chavo was ok. They're two of the better in-ring performers on Raw, so I didn't mind watching this match. At least Shelton won...the right guy won in this case

Tag title match was just another example of a rushed title run. Why do they keep doing this. However, it was actually a pretty well-booked match, with the injury angle and Hurricane's heroism coming back to hurt the team. I havent really taken to Cade and Murdoch, however

HBK-Masters was decent. Good finish though. Masters looked good in the loss, and it makes sense that he lost, since he simply isn't on HBK's level, even from a character standpoint, but the fact that he gave HBK a run for his money will help out his character

Angle-Cena was good until the ref bump. Then it went to shit. Fuck DQ finishes.

All in all, I thought it was a good, albeit unspectacular show. Hardy-Edge was the highlight, followed by the Flair title win, and HBK-Masters was pretty good. Didn't mind spending 20 bucks for this one (split the cost with a friend)
