Yes he let go, so what? To me, that means the hold was broken. You can't just let go and slap it back on, that's not the point. The point is that HBK didn't submit and Masters got frustrated, let go of the hold and whacked him with a chair. How is that fair? I know wrestling is fake and all, but it would be nice to have some semblence of reality in their storylines.

It'd be like in a UFC fight a guy applied a rear naked choke, got frustrated, hit the guy with a chair and then re-applied the hold.

IMO the Masterlock was broken b/c Masters couldn't hold on to the hold long enough for HBK to submit. The Masterlock is a submission hold and since he couldn't get HBK to submit, he loses the challenge.

The pics are inconclusive like I pointed out earlier. The only time Masters "let" the hold go was when HBK tried to cheat his way out of it. Masters followed that by defending himself. What did you want him to do? I didn't realize The Masterlock Challenge was an open invitation for cheaters to come out of the woodwork..

You can't apply UFC rules and ways to WWE!! Masters is a heel and did what any great heel should do! Do whatever is nessessary to get the job done and Masters did just that!

Here's another possibility. When I first saw the pic I thought Masters was just getting the hold put on HBK then. I think what we are seeing is Masters preparing HBK for the lock in.

As in, HBK is still sitting on the chair waiting for the lock to be applied.
