"Nature Boy" Ric Flair: Full Time Return

Now.. I've been against this for at least the last two years or so, but I've had a change of heart.

I think it's time for WWE to make Ric Flair a member of the full time active roster again. Now before you say, "What the hell?" .. Hear me out.

WWE seems to be going through a big transitional stage in the last couple months. If you've noticed all the young guys with potential (and even some without) are getting pushed, while some of the veterans of the company have either been released or become semi-jobbers..

I'm not talking about the top dogs of WWE, it's more the mid card where this has been going on..

Anyway, I think this is the perfect time for a guy like Ric Flair to get back in full time. In a couple years there may not be much room for him, but as of right now, the actual "wrestling" aspect of WWE has been lost.

We see some decent matches here and there, but most of the time they don't last over 5-10 minutes. It's mainly because of how green everyone is..

Think about it.. Batista and Cena are both still in the "green" stage and are World Champions of their respective brand.

I think Flair can add a lot right now, even at age 56, to help the future of WWE.. Flair can teach and help mold these youngsters into capable in-ring performers, and they could certainly learn a thing or two about working the mic from him and adding the intensity needed to make fans believe that real hatred is there when two guys are jawing at each other.. Of course, I wouldn't have Flair win many matches against these guys and you'll see that as I expect Carlito will be put over big by The Nature Boy..

Thoughts?

The thing with Flair is his last run wrestling was all about him. I dont say this in a bad way because I saw him live in Manchester and completly marked out. But, his matches are all his own creation. They focus more on Flairs trade-mark selling (big back-drop laning on his side, thrown off the top rope with side landing, irish-whip inside out over the ropes followed by clothesline, punch drunk fall on face) than on Flair selling an opponents auctual regular offence. Flair was at his most useful were he was, in a stable with one other top-carder creating stars out of two youngsters. Anyone can see that Flair is a teacher but he should continue to do it subtely, he doesnt have to bounce around inside a ring to get other poeple up there.

I had a sig, once.

It may be common knowledge that i hate Flair, but if you were to have him on tv, the best role i think for him is the teacher role in which K Jay suggested. It's credible plus it does a lot for the younger talent. What can a young guy in his 20's nearing his prime possibly get from beating a 56 year old who is past his prime?

I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

Yeah, I dont see Flair winning the IC title at Unforgiven. Because it would be like "Ok, now what?"

Bottom line is he should NOT be wrestling, in my opinion, any more than Hulk Hogan does right now.

Its not a matter of Flair not being able to do it, because he still has more pep in his step than a lot of the guys on the roster, but like thirty7 said, its not good for your overall product when a guy in his mid 50's is beating guys half his age on a regular basis.

Although, I think everyone enjoyed Flairs segment the most on Raw last night. There is certainly a place for him on the show. He just needs to be used properly.
