Big Show

I was just curious as to what you guys think about how they're handling the Big Show

To me, he's being booked as a sideshow freak, and I love it. At Wrestlemania, he was in a sumo match. Then, he was in a handicap match this week. He was the obvious choice to try to break out of the Masterlock (I dont think he ever did it, but I still remember the huge pop he got when he came out for it)

Personally, I love the idea. I think he's done all that he can do in regular feuds. I think he should keep fighting handicap matches, maybe fight some midgets here or there, etc. He should be what Andre the Giant was toward the end of his career. An entertaining side attraction, not someone that you build the show around

I agree with Mister D, they are booking Big Show very well and if you notice, he's getting big pops now. The guy is more over than he's been in a long time. The only thing I wonder is if he goes on a little bit of a winning streak, what can you do? You know he doesn't work as a World Champion, and if he never got a title opportunity it wouldn't make sense. I guess he needs to get screwed over everytime he goes for the belt then.

I agree - Big Show isn't the kind of guy you can keep in a long program with another wrestler - nor should he be put into a high-profile title match. He's best booked as a huge guy who throws little guys around with some comedy thrown in (I love the "shhh" chop). I think that had been the problem with WWE's booking of him before - he's too big to be jobbed out, but not a big enough draw to put as a top guy. So, he'd go up the ladder, win the belt for a brief amount of time, and then be dropped back down the ladder. If they keep consistent with what they've been doing with him, I can see him staying over for a good while.

If they stick with the "monster" angle it works well or when he was doing parodies of people ex. Showster. Other than that, he's just boring.

Well honestly this guy should have never lost a match. Its just not realistic that this guy could be beat. The reason Hogan and Andre sold Wrestlemaania 3 was becuase Hogan was defending against a guy who had never lost, and was percieved as unbeatable. It was huge. From day one had they handled The Show correctly I bet you could throw him in a high profile match every now and then and it could sell PPVs. And I think having short runs with the belt is not a bad thing but you can't have him pinned unless by a guy like Lesnar who is as big of a monster. The Show is good where he is right now and they can leave him there. He is impressive and doesn't need gold to prove that, and we know he can kick any guys ass any day. I think if they leave him in the same type of spot for the next several years we will be able to compare him to Andre in terms of just sheer likeability and popularity.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!

I think the Big Show is very entertaining to watch, and it's a shame that for a long time they were having him job cleanley to guys the size of Booker T when he should have been treated as a monster all along. I could see him being WWE champion as long as they have him destroy his opponents and look unstoppable.

Well, as of now, the Big Show is kinda boring to me...all he does is come out, chops people, and delivers the Showstopper and what not...its kinda the same thing over and over...although he's been more entertaining to watch since he moved to RAW...WWE should experiement with his humorous side again and make him Shownan the Barbarian, Hulk Showgan, or rap battle against Cena or somethin...
