Rep Power: 106 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() gXboxLive Leaderboard: 52nd | Immortal Hulkster vs. The Heartbreak Kid : Mixed Reaction? I know I am not the only one to notice this, but I will give a quick recap for whoever needs it. HBK calls back Hogan to help him in a tag match. They win, they pose. They hug etc etc. They do it again all is wonderful in the world and shazaam!! HBK superkicks Hogan into next Tuesday. The HBK heel turn begins............. Or does it? Next week, HBK comes out in his all white suit looking more like a minister than a sinister. He trashes Hogan, trashes his VH1 show and claims he is the Shooooooooowstoppaaaaah!! etc etc. Mixed reaction from the crowd. Still not getting heeled on. So, maybe the next week he will get over as a heel? Maybe? HBK cuts one of the most memorable vignettes in recent memory imitating Hogan on Larry King Live. Crowd eats it up. Internet crowd eats it up. Ok, lets try again next week to make HBK the heel....... *The Meeting* HBK and Hogan square off. HBK relatively shoots on Hogan. Crowd responds. Hogan tries to shoot on HBK. Yes, try is the key word. HBK plays right into it. Crowd eats it up. HBK superkicks the King. Oooooooooof Course people are going to pop for that. The King sucks ass after all. HBK bails after the same ol bullshit from Hogan. Hogan rips off the shirt and does the posing bullshit for 10 minutes. Ok Got it? I just think they are playing a dangerous card here trying to get HBK over as a heel on Hogan. The real wrestling crowd, you know the ones that show up at MSG and Toronto know that this angle would NEVER work in their arena. Hogan would get boo'ed till tomorrow. Hogan is being exposed by HBK as just being here to shoot footage for his VH1 show, and that he wont back down to the glitz and the show of Hulk Hogan. Some of HBK's statements are so true that the smart fan just ends up having a hard time rooting for Hogan. I am getting the feeling that the fans at Summerslam may turn on Hogan as well. Talk amongst yourselves. I am going for a smoke. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | No matter what I'll always cheer for HBK over Hogan. Same way how I'll always cheer for Bret over HBK. However, I do see your point, HBK isn't really helping himself get over as the heel nor is Hogan helping him. However, it is really entertaining. I like it. The general pulbic likes it. So why not. Either way it's a draw.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | So skeptical about Hogan's motives aren't we? HBK may be browing somethings from out of wrestling, though it's mainly just a work and everyone knows it, to appease the internet fans a la Matt Hardy. And so Hogan's getting footage for his reality show, so what? Is it illegal to do so? Besides if he didn't want to come beack to the WWE he wouldn't have. It wasn't Nick and Brooke yelling "ONE MORE MATCH!!!!!" Besides at SS Hogan will be fine, HBK may be getting pops for the stuff he does but he's still getting booed pretty badly. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | I don't think WWE is enticing any buys for this show by making HBK make Hogan look like shiet. You don't want to expose Hogan's weaknesses... Well anyway I've always been a Hulkamaniac and liked HBK so I hope they put on a great match. The fans at Toronto turned on Rock when he fought Hogan, so anything can happen in a match. haha. |
| Thanks for the memories Eddie! | |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | I'm a huge HBK mark so no matter what i'm goin for HBK, i dont really like Hogan much to begin with anyways. I hope HBK goes over at SS and I hope Hogan gets booed out of the building.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | I really don't know who i'm gonna be rootin for here...at first, I was more on the Hulkster's side than HBK, but after HBK delivered that promo about the Hulkster, I kinda went on the Headliner's side...Once he said that he's out there doing something that he's not supposed to be doing, saying things he's not supposed to be saying, I just jumped to his side...The things HBK said had some truth to them and he may have actually meant it...he's trying to expose the truth and how Hogan is nothing but a fraud who does the same thing over and over, which is why I'm rootin for him...yet on the other hand, this is Hulk Hogan we're talking about...a LEGEND...so my instinct is to root for him just for what he has done for the business...So, for me, it's a tough choice so I just hope its a good match.

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | A good heel must feel justified in his position, or at least convince us that he feels justified in his position. When a guy seems certain that what he is saying his a deep rooted meaning he gets over as a heel. HBK`s is a little different because normally a heel's spout is serious to them but ridiculous to the fans. However as Simon points out HBK's rhetoric is pretty close to what a lot of fans think so it is hard to heel on him. This match is one step from a face-on-face encounter and that step would be HBK slating Hogan for going to WCW. That might be just enough to make a crowd react chanting back and forth as they did for the Rock-Hogan match. It is definitly flavour of the month for wrestlers to use near non-kayfabe to get their fueds over right now and while this practice is making for some good TV right now it may end up hurting professional wrestling in the long term as they have nothing to go back to. The soap-opera style of the late ninties has already cut the length of an average WWE match to 5 minutes, the further blow of blending real-life grievences into every fued may make the product unusable in the next 3 years in my opinion. |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() ![]() | You can definitely tell that HBK believes in what he is saying, making him a convincing heel. However, the thing is, a lot of the fans also believe in what HBK is saying (making them convincing heels, lol). I think HBK is exposing weaknesses, which i like because it challenges the Hogan character to add depth, whose lack of afforementioned depth is what has made me not become a Hulkamaniac.
