Great American Bash Thoughts

Yeah, I know most of you prolly didn't see it, but who cares..here's the thread.


Now, there were some things I liked and some things I didn't like. I'll start with the cons.


Cons:

-The bWo can go to hell now. I've had enough. Nova is great, but Stevie could be better at other things, and the Meanie..well, the Meanie fucking sucks. The Mexicools outshined the bWo by a mile tonight, but the match was short and had zero heat.

-Bra & Panties Match. It's weird for me to put this in the cons because of the T & A involved, but this lasted too long and I can't stand all the screaming Melina does..She needs to shut her mouth and just sit there and look hot.

-The Main Event. Wow, what a snooze fest this was..I mean, I was expecting at least a decent brawl but we got nothing out of this match and then it ended in a DQ finish so that means JBL still isn't out of the Main event picture like he should be.

-Rey & Eddie's storyline. There was no progression at all in this.

-Hassan might be gone for good, and that's crap. Fuck UPN.


Pros:

-The Hassan video package was outstanding with the singing in Arabic in the background. Can't get much better than that video was.

-Hassan/Taker. The match itself wasn't bad..The masked men added a different element to the match and it gave Hassan a fighting chance.

-Rey & Eddie: The Match. Not their best work from an in-ring perspective but it was still good.

-Benoit/OJ. Not a bad match. OJ looked better, Benoit was great as always, and OJ picked up the biggest win of his career.

-Heidi/Animal vs. MNM. Match was ok. Crowd was hot for Animal, and Animal actually looked good in the ring..If he lost a little weight he'd be good to go. I wasn't pissed about MNM losing the titles because the tag division wa a joke anyway. Animal said, "This one's for Hawk." I have no problem. Road Warriors kicked fucking ass back in the day.

Well for all you Hassan ball lickers out there, I have a shred of good news for you. He was destroyed in a way that if it is possible he comes back someday he has a pretty good vendetta against Taker, plus maybe he will be disfigured from his beating and wear a mask. Problem solved.

Ummmm was it just me? or did we all call this Batista/Bradshaw mess when he first showed up. There is Smackdown's main event picture for the next few months, YAY!!!! I can't wait.

So now does Eddy reveal the secret anyway? I do not understand this booking. Mysterio beats Gurrero for the 4,000th time. We get no reveal and thats the end? I'm guessing we get to see this match one more time at Summerslam, Thank God!!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MATCH BEFORE!!!!!!

Did OJ beat Benoit? I love a good waste of talent.

Ya MNM lose the belts huh? Heidenreich has WWE gold on his record? The apocalypse is near.

Its good to see the spirit of WCW still lives on Smackdown.

I don't disagree with you Steveo, but what's really wrong with Heidi and Animal holding the titles for a while? Animal needed a partner, MNM will be fine, and they can sell some more copies of the DVD. The division is a joke anyway.

As far as OJ goes, WWE needed to pull the trigger on a win here. It's time to see what the kid is made of. I know Benoit is getting a shit deal here, but at least we'll find out whether or not OJ should have a job in the company.

JBL/Batista. haha..Yeah, we did call that. It was before the whole Hassan push thing came up. We all figuered this would be brutal and boy did it deliver.

My only question is...why isn't Taker/Batista the new program instead of continuing on with JBL?

I know Taker has the Orton thing, but that could wait..I'm sure there would be much more interest in a Batista/Taker match..I'm not saying they'd have a great match, bu it would be a hell of a lot more interesting than watchin this JBL bullshit.

I didnt watch this show, nor did I have ANY interest in watching it. After reading your thoughts and JV's I sure am glad I didnt waste my time.


A few questions for me though.............


Did the Hassan segment end in it seeming that he was finished from a character point? Will the casual fan just have to forget that he existed like they want all old storylines to go?


Where does Undertaker go from here? I have a strong feeling that they are doing JBL and Batista at the next PPV and will save Undertaker vs Batista for Mania. That is unless Brock comes back. Then Taker will get put in a token win Mania match again.


Is Batista going over everyone until people are told that he is the best? My point is......he destroys HHH 3 times......he whoops up on JBL and will most likely do it again. At what point does it do more harm to the other wrestlers than it does good for Batista? I am really starting to lose my interest in Batista as champion.


I saw the MNM match and couldnt help but think they REALLY dropped the ball by not having Hiendenrich come out as a honorary LOD member.


Eddie vs. REy. Oh Vey !! Someone hit me in the head with a hammer so I can forget this fued ever existed.

I actually ordered it. I thought it was decent. Not great, not terrible. Pros/cons:

Pros:

I thought it was kinda cool seeing Animal and Heidenreich win. It was nice, and the little tribute at the end was cool too. I was a little shocked that they won, and thats a good thing.

Booker/Christian was a decent match. Nothing spectacular, but solid.

I thought Eddie played the heel very well in his match, and Tazz accentuated it on commentary, specifically when he called Eddie an asshole. The match told a great story.

Taker-Hassan was good, and I got a kick out of the huge beat-down at the end.

Cons:

I was a little disappointed by OJ-Benoit. I was thinking to myself, "If Benoit cant pull a good match out of OJ, nobody can"

Main event. JBL sucks. DQ finishes suck.

I actually saw the show. Stolen cable, I wasn't paying for that crap. I love having hooked up friends. I'm not trying to say that Animal was bad and that it shouldn't have gone that way. My only problem with that entire situation is that Heidenreich has a belt. Charlie Haas must be sitting and shaking his head, along with all the other talent released before that waste of space.

hhm..didn't watch it, but from what I hear it's a good thing I didnt' waste my money.
