Old Gimmicks Resurected.

I got to thinking the other day about some of the current roster and realised how similar some of them are compared to some of the past.

EG:

Heidenreich = Combination of The Genuis with his poems and The Bushwhackers.
Batista = Warrior Rope Shaking
John Cena = Bascially the rock, good funny interviews, same predictable moves in the ring.

Does anyone else think this or is it me being madd!

Batista and the Warrior? Beyond the rope shake I see no resemblence... you may as well say Paul London is the same because of his boots... I cant see the similarities.

Cena and the Rock? Not even on the same level.. I know where your coming from.. I can see the way the interviews are done and how they are trying to achieve the same success.. but when it comes to in ring performance Cena sucks a fat ****... he basically gets beaten up all mach then busts out the F5 for a win... at least Rock knew how to work a match.

And heidenreich,, yeah he is a joke character. The guy was originally intended to play a Nazi who has been frozen in time and has now been 'released' on the modern world. personally I would have preferred that. He has the 'Aryan' look.. and would look the part in a ss Uniform. But he still would have sucked a **** in the ring.

I've said this before, but when I think of Cena, I'm thinking SCSA:2005..

No need for me to go into detail again with this, but when comparing Cena to Austin, I have to give Austin the edge on most things..but Cena is still young.

A lot of people wanted to compare Carlito to Razor when Carlito first showed up but I never got that comparison. What do Razor and Carlito really have in common?

About the same as Stone Cold Steve Austin and Cena does in my opinion: nothing.

I'm a good old rebel,
Now thats just what I am,
And for this Yankee nation,
I do not give a damn.
I'm glad we fought against her,
I only wish we'd won.
I ain't asking any pardon for anything we've done.

Uhh..ok..

I'll try to explain this again..

It's not because of the characters. Of course, Austin has a much different character than Cena..not even close.

I just think they have a lot in common between the way their matches are booked, the way they both brawled over wrestling while both of them could/can actually do other things than just street fight, it fits both of their characters, and the fact that Eric is now becoming the authority figure to Cena that Vince was to Austin. And Cena of course, is very anti-authority or as Jackie would say...He's THUG LIFE YO!! ..lol

Carlito, and Razor

The smart ass Puerto Rican. Who thinks hes cooler and tougher than anybody else, and then pusses out when the time comes. Razor did that in the early part of his career when he was heel. Carlito is no where near as physically imposing as Razor so I don't know if he could play off the tough guy if he went face.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!

Heidenreich...nope
Nothin much between Bastista and Warrior except rope shaking and body type...But I find Batista to be humorous from time to time...

and for Cena...HELL NO! THAT RUDI POO WILL NEVER BE AS GREAT OR EVEN COME CLOSE TO BEING ANYTHING LIKE THE ELECTRIFYING PEOPLE'S CHAMP!

hhm..only see the similarities in Cena. He is more of a Rock/Stone cold mix. He is trying to be like the Rock on the mic, and with the Shuffle, and punching opponents out of the ring. His brawlilng style is more like stone cold, though his ring work isn't near the level austin and rock were. Cena just gets beat up, then does the F-U. Not exactly Champ material.

Thanks for the memories Eddie!

Truth in that, however I can never remember Rock being strong as a face. He always got leathered then got the win in a hot comeback.

I had a sig, once.

true, but the Rock's comebacks were pretty exciting and hot. Cena just does the F-U! Haha, he needs more set up moves or something.

Thanks for the memories Eddie!
