Muhammed Hassan - Its my Time

As everyone knows, Muhammad Hassan is one of WWE's top heels, despite only being here for going on 8 months. He has a bright future in the WWE and while his character sparks controvery in some people and issues, he plays it to a T. He can get the crowd to hate him just like that *snaps fingers very loudly*

On Raw, he went on a winning streak on several superstars, his biggest win being his win over Chris Jericho, who BTW was the very first Undisputed Champion and is currently in a World Title feud with John Cena. In over 5 months of being on Raw, he only lost one match and that was to the WWE Champion John Cena...............

He has faced both the WWE Champion John Cena and the World Heavyweight Champion Batista. He has faced former World Heavyweight and WWE Champion Shawn Michaels and while he led Divairi a victory over HBK, he wrestled him himself, even though he never got a victory over him. He wrestled former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit and while he lost only by DQ. He has worked with Hulk Hogan, in the tag team match at Backlash and at the big memoriable Wrestlemania moment at WM21. He even got the rub off Stone Cold Steve Austin in the segment on Raw over a few weeks ago. Putting it simply, the WWE feels safe with Muhammad Hassan with carrying the top heel status and they feel very confident in him becoming a top player for the WWE.

However, since being drafted to Smackdown, he has yet to be defeated yet. His very first victory on the night of Smackdown was against Big Show that is a huge win, literally and figurely, or however you spell that. Now, he is engaged in a feud with Undertaker, one of the WWE's biggest legends in it's entire history. They are now scheduled to face at the Great American Bash and their match will also have a stipulation above it, the winner of the match will be the no #1 contender's for the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista(since we all know for a fact that JBL will not win at Great American Bash). Now, in the midst of this feud, last week WWE did a very controversial scene where 5 masked men came out and stranguled Undertaker with piano wire(made to depict the actual beheadings in Iraq) and then they carried Divairi out like a martyr or something. This forced UPN to write a letter to WWE, demanidng Hassan be banned from Smackdown this week but Hassan and Divairi cut a promo that will,be shown on Velocity on this whole incident which made the newspaper headlines

Quote:
I stand here tonight the only patriot left in America. I stand here tonight perhaps even a martyr against tyranny and injustice. Because the fact is I am an AMERICAN professional wrestler, but because of my heritage, because of my background, because of who my ancestors were, I'm labeled - we're labeled terrorists. Terrorists; I'm a terrorist! Well it must be true - it's gotta be true - because it's right here in black and white, in a reputable source, like the New York Post.

What, you don't believe me? Here it is: "Terrorist Wrestles After Bombing." I'm a terrorist - we're terrorists. We wrestled after a bombing. Well, Mr. Don Kaplan, (to Daivari) have you ever met Don Kaplan? Have you ever spoken to Don Kaplan? Have you ever called Don Kaplan on the phone? Well, I never have either. So, if Don Kaplan of the New York Post has never met us, how does Don Kaplan know we're terrorists? Don Kaplan also wrote that "Arabs in ski-masks carried Daivari out as a sacrifice last week." Arabs in SKI-MASKS...in SKI-MASKS...in a ski-mask. How does he know that they were Arabs?

The point is, because of articles like this, because of the fear that the media has put in all of you people, I have been denied my God-given right to pursue the profession of my choosing...to pursue the American Dream. I have been denied my basic rights as an American citizen. You know, as I look around this crowd and I look at all these faces looking at me in disgust, I think a lot of you have forgotten what this country was founded on. I think you have forgotten that your ancestors fought for their freedom. They gave their lives for their freedom - whether they be black, Irish-American, Italian-American, Jewish-American, Asian-American, they gave their lives for their freedom.

What's next? What's next? Because anytime anything goes wrong in this country, it's the Arabs. When a plane crashes, it's the Arabs. When a bomb goes off, it's the Arabs. The blackout two summers ago - it was the Arabs. Hurricane Dennis must be the Arabs.

You people say what you want. Because I have a right to be in here. I have a right to say what I want. And what I'm going to say, my name is Muhammad Hassan. I am an Arab-American and I am very proud of my heritage. But, as an American, my first amendment rights have been trampled. And, I stand here before all of you ashamed of my country.

(Hassan rips the NYPost article as Daivari translates the speech)
This gained Hassan tremendous heat still but it also adds right into the depth of his character despite the men being in masks, they were called Arab and Hassan wasn't even called a terrorist and now that Hassan has been banned from SD, it adds even more to Hassan's excuse for being prejudiced against. With Orton looking to screw Undertaker, you can bet Hassan is walking out with a HUGE victory on him over Undertaker at the Great American Bash.

Now, Hassan is more hated as ever and all of this publicity is falling on WWE at just the RIGHT time. Now, this title shot will most likely happen at
Summerslam of course, and Summerslam is in Batista's HOMETOWN that pretty much spells doom. Very rarely does a wrestler walk into his hometown and win the world title but I can NEVER remember the world champion himself walking into his hometown and walking out WITH the world title.

Do you think if it all comes together, that WWE will slap the WHC on Hassan? As if Hassan is not more hated than ever as it is, but beating Batista and winning the World Heavyweight Championship from him in his hometown (of Washington DC much less) will earn him that much more heat. Hassan could maybe even hold that title until losing at Wrestlemania 22, but I won't jump to conclusions?

Would you do it? I would for sure. Do you think it might happen? Maybe so

I think even considering that he would hold the world title in the next year is jumping the gun. He is nowhere near ready as far as building a match goes. He puches, kicks and does the downward spiral and camel clutch. There is no way the people would ever believe he could beat Batista unless WWE thinks everyone has super short term memories. If I recall Hassan and Divari got destroyed by Batista about 2 months ago and left bloody messes. Also he was squashed by Cena in under 5 minutes on RAW the week he came to Smackdown. He may have the crowd heat becuase of the whole Arab thing, but he needs about a year or two more of actually learning how to wrestle. I'm super confused where all this call for him to win the belt is coming from.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!

lol.. of course he knows how to wrestle.. do you think wwe just found some dude on the street and was like hey how would you liek to be in the wwe? lol.. no, he was wrestling before and then trained some more before his debut.. Trust me he knows how to wrestle. He does more then punch, kick, downward spiral and the clutch. Watch his matches some more. I dont think they will give him the title just yet, but if they did I dont think it would be a bad move.

I'm pretty sure it's just Crocker that thinks this. I havent read Crocks long explanation yet, but I personally think its not only WAAAAAY to early for him, but he also doesnt have the TV time to be very recognized by the casual fan as a champion.

Plus the fact that he is only like 21 years old. He has plenty of time. I strongly believe that the young guys can suffer from extreme huge heads if given gold too early in their careers.

I would much rather see Taker have one last nice run as champion than a relative rookie win it.

Ya know, I'd have given him the U.S. belt, just for the irony of the name of the belt. I'm sure those angles and promos could write themselves.

I don't really see the irony seeing that he is American.

So let me get this straight...Hassan shouldn't be World Champion because he can't wrestle, but Batista can be world champion? Who is Dave now, the next Bret Hart?

Wrestlers don't win championships because they can wrestle, they win because they are either super over with the fans or they gennerate more heat than anyone..any heel.

Hassan is well on his way to becoming the big time heel on SD!...JBL is done. All you have to do is listen to the chants of the live fans to realize that Hassan is hated more than just about anyone..Is it because he's arab character? Yes..of course it is, because the irony in all of this is that Hassan's character speaks the truth about America and the live fans feed right into it..The live fans in America live up to the arab-hating people that Hassan describes them as.

That Hassan promo was the best piece of work I've seen or heard or read in a long time, and it's too bad that UPN is a racist network and we don't get to see Hassan more often.

With that said..the question is, should Hassan be given the title at SummerSlam?

As much as I love Hassan I do agree that it may be a little early for him to get the strap. It's not because of his in-ring skills, because I think they'll get better, and it's not because he hasn't paid his dues, because seriously on the SD! brand nobody should have to pay their dues, the show is awful, but I think it's too early because he just hasn't gotten enough exposure in the last few weeks.

The loss to Cena was a idiotic move on WWE's part, and now Hassan has to kind of start over on the SD! brand and it's going to take time, to see what feuds they can build for him..I like the Taker feud and I think they can roll with that, but with Orton coming back it'll be difficult to keep that going for a while...

The worst thing WWE could do is have Hassan get the title shot at Batista and then get killed..If Hassan gets the shot, he needs to be cheated out of the title by somebody and Dave can retain for a while longer.

Well I think with all angles such as Hassan's they are not built for the long term, there is only so far you can push the envelope(and already people are starting to feel it is too far), and eventually the US hating Arab has to get put in his place. That's just the nature of the beast.

With that said there is more than likely no better time to put the belt on Hassan, the promos he can cut would be tremendous, and he by himself could help build the faces up on Smackdown. Because whereas Batista always runs through people to remain strong, going against Hassan would make anyone look like a uber-babyface and they will always come out looking strong, because he would have to cheat to hold on.

Hell, they could even use HHH to help Hassan win, maybe even steal the finish from Shiek and Backland as a way to keep Batista strong and eventually let trips get his receipt.

But, anways the point is there are some positives of Hassan winning at SSlam, it is simply about deciding if HE is ready, because his character is.

Have any of you stopped to think that Orton may get the Summerslam title shot? That is potentially a way bigger match than anything currently being discussed. There is plenty of time to do Orton/Taker on TV or after Summerslam. Like it has been said, Hassan is perfect for the U.S. title right now. I say have Benoit beat OJ and have Benoit/Hassan at Summerslam. Taker definately needs a high profile title shot again. You could do a Triple threat with him Batista and Orton.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape.
