Nothing against Steveo, but my thinking is that Cena will prolly be a main eventer for years and he'll prolly still be wrestling even after guys like Taker, HHH, Angle, HBK, etc. retire, so it's not a big deal if Cena doesn't have this long ass title reign the first time out.

I agree with steveo's post about keeping Cena and HHH apart until at least December. I also agree with Blitz's post about Cena's title reign not having to be too long, because he's got plenty of title reigns ahead of him

Do you think the same will hold true to Benoit, Jericho and Eddie? Will they be multiple time champs?

No

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!

I think Cena is still fresh and will feel fresh at the top of the card too. Perhaps being in the middle segments is working for him right now. Not that "creative" will have planned it that way you understand.

I had a sig, once.

but the point is.. theses guys were fresh once too. Why do people always look for the next big thing and bypass a range of current stars who are more than adequate and qualified to take that position

I think WWE sees Cena as more than a champion-caliber wrestler. I think they see him as the next Austin or Rock...somebody that people who arent huge wrestling fans will tune in to see.

I don't think they (or most fans for that matter) ever saw Jericho, Benoit, and Eddie

I understand your point Shango, that there are current superstars that that they can build up, but I dont think that they will let Cena slip very far on the card, after he inevitably runs into HHH

People may not see Eddie, Benoit and Jericho as the next big thing.. but then you have to ask, were they PUSHED as much?

Time will also tell how he is treated when he eventually loses the strap. Remember jericho, Benoit and Eddie were shunted straight back down to the midcard.. lets see what happens with Cena.. and If he is kept in the Main Event picture I will be disgusted

I think the Trips/Cena matchup will be saved for Mania, they dont want to do what they did last year and put the original match on one of the smaller PPV's
