Something I've noticed throughout 2005 and even towards the end of last year, is the number of former superstars coming back for special appearances. Hogan, Piper, Austin, Jake Roberts, Marty Jannetty, Harley Race and so on. I really like this, as for the most part they help younger talents and are incredibly entertaining. As long as they don't come back full-time, I think scenarios such as Piper doing the Pit on Raw or The Snake putting over Randy on the Highlight Reel are win-win for WWE and the fans.

Thoughts?

I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

Agreed. I love seeing 80's performers come out for one off appearances, though don't like it if they hang around too long. My favourite was Mr Perfect at the Rumble in (2002??)

It's just a shame really that more of them aren't with us still to make these appearances.

Didn't he make the Final 4 as well? That was awesome. One of the best Rumble moments ever, although still behind Drew Carey

Not so sure about Drew Carey, but yeah Hennig was there almost till the end. Really thought that a feud between him and Angle, who just looked right against each other in those closing stages, would have been excellent both in ring and on the mic too.

Angle vs Henning would have been a dream feud. Unfortunatly we never got to see it.

Edge will rise again...

Mr. Perfect actually was in the final 3 that year. It was the year that HHH threw out Angle at the end. If I'm not mistaken, the final 4 was (in order of elmination) Austin, Perfect, Angle, HHH

This, coincidentally, was my favorite Rumble ever

I think we do need to see the legends on every now and then becuase it will keep interest in the history of the sport and get some of the younger crowd to look into why these guys are so important.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!
