Kerwin White AKA Chavo Guerrero

By now you guys have all seen the new gimmick of Chavo Guerrero, where he calls himself "Kerwin White", and says that he wants to join middle america and is no longer of Hispanic heritage..that's fine. But now I'm hearing from various sites that Chavo's slogan will be "White is Right" and he'll be taking this gimmick to another level.

Do you guys think racism should be a part of wrestling and do you think this gimmick will work?

I want to say that it will fail, but I don't know anymore..maybe it will work.

For the record, I don't have a problem with the gimmick and I think it has a chance to work only because Chavo is better on the mic than he gets credit for and seems like a guy that could really get under people's skin.

Of course the reality is that, whilst it is Chavo that will carry the signs out there giving the sentiments a sense of irony, everyone knows the comments are coming from the pens of the WWE writers who are (I'm guessing) not largely hispanic and the McMahon family itself....that definitely isn't.

Bottom line for me though is that I am not hispanic and am very very white. I would prefer to hear from our hispanic or non-white scribes on the subject as it's hard for me to put myself in their shoes.

I also have no idea if we have anyone on these boards that fit's those desciptions!!

I believe Abel M is Spanish, he commented on the Mexicools, so maybe he has some thoughts on this gimmick as well..


Other than that, the board is very very white, me included. I get what you're saying Bulldog, that a person that is Spanish will look at this differently than a white boy like me..but I'd still like to hear your thoughts..lol


On a side note, isn't John Cena kind of the reversed Kerwin White? ..lol

While being 49% White is right I am also 49% down with the brown. As for my other 2% thats kinda between backing the mack and supporting the (neo-nazi) new World order. Then again I could be bought into the nation too.

To sum up, EVERY RACE ANGLE HAS BEEN DONE TO DEATH DON'T EXPECT THIS TO BE ANY DIFFERENT.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!

Yes..I understand that they prolly should have just left Chavo alone, but they didn't so now I'm asking you guys for your thoughts about his new gimmick..

Maybe you haven't seen him doing it yet, but I think it could work for him providing WWE gives him enough air time, which is tough to come by on RAW..Angle coldn't even get on the show for more than five min. this week.

Do I think it will work? Of course. Why not. This is the WWE. It's kinda risky. And we all know that means good overall.
