The Hassan/Undertaker terrorist angle.

1.Horrendous timing

2. Awful taste

3. Probably in the top 5 most offensive things WWE has ever done

4.Has caused an amazing uproar against WWE

5. Just plain stupid

Those are some points. Personally I think Vince or whoever is writing has lost their repective minds. I've read tons of just plain hatemail today all over the internet. I think that this is the first and last time we will see something this stupid again. Its one of those things that just makes me shake my head and wonder, "What in the hell is wrong with people?"

I'm afraid it was inevitable this angle was going to happen ever since Hassan debuted. I don't think you can blaime WWE for the timing, but then again if they didnt do the angle then they wouldn't have been put in this position. I havent yet seen the footage, and I probably won't see it as i'm told it'll be edited from the UK edition (and quite rightly so). I hope WWE will drop this angle strait away, it's distaestfull and offends alot of people.

Its fine you do it in '24'.. its fine to do it in 'The Shield' and a million other entertainment programmes.. but god forbid someone does it in Wrestling.

Wrestling has always been tasteless, wether it be using the gulf war in the storylines with Sgt Slaughter.. or usung the russian tensions to its advantage with Hogan and Volkoff.. its always cashed in on the latest tragedy, same as any other form of media.

And we certainly shouldnt be shocked or suprised by it

Shango is 100% correct. Although people could claim that its "entertainment" and there is nothing entertaining about terrorists, it is on a cable network at 9pm. Its not a show for children really. I don't let my kids watch wrestling. Maybe hillbillies do. But thats not my problem.

I honestly think that people are not nearly as outraged as they are saying there are.


Hassan is the ultimate heel now.

Im also not happy that we wont get to see the SD footage in the UK.

EDIT: The stupid fucking thing is.. it will be shown in the future in various recaps and whatnot.. and nobody will moan.

How is the footage going to be offensive? Im sure grieving relatives will have better things to do that watch SD this week anyway.. and as i understand it, in the US they carried warnings.

Well jeez, I don't know, On one hand, they should have known better than to ever do the angle in the first place. Its a touchy subject, and just having Hassan around bashing America was already pushing it. I guess what bugs me is that they had to take it that extra inch, and completely blow it open. The terrorists attacking Undertaker wasn't needed. Its done and nothing can really be taken back. My big gripe will be if they continue to use them. If they start kidnapping people and doing those terrorist style videos, then they have pushed it to a level that it should not be. Timing is another thing. They taped it the day before the bombings, true. They have the power to edit Smackdown, take the segment out, they should have known better. I guess another thing that bugs me about this is that this will be the second year in a row that Taker is gonna have a bullshit fued and an absurd story line for the Great American Bash. Last year it was the Dudleys/Paul Bearer dying saga. This year its Hassan and the terrorists. Kinda silly, but I should expect no less from Smackdown, which seems to have writers a million times worse than RAW.
