Raw thoughts for July 4th 2005

Pros: The best kept turn in recent memory.

ICEMAN

With the exception of the heel turn, RAW was pretty weak last night.

Pro:
-HBK's heel turn. Boy did that come out of nowhere. I love surprises like that and a turning HBK heel is a great move; as he's run out of opponents as a babyface on RAW. They now have 7 weeks to build to a match at SummerSlam between him and Hogan, so it should make for some good segments in the upcoming weeks.

-Y2J's Highlight Reel. Jericho and Cena work well together and this promo had a lot of heat behind it. This is another program that could become really good leading up to a match at SummerSlam. I'm liking how the card is slowly coming together.

-No Triple H again. I like how they're keeping him off T.V. Makes his loss to Batista seem devastating. I'm sure he'll be back soon to set up his match with Angle at SS, which will be very good.

Cons:
-Diva Search. Another waste of 15 min. I flip the channel but that's the point, I shouldn't have to watch anything else from 7-9 (Mountain Time). I'd rather see a good match than these bimbos doing a ridiculous obstacle course in bikini's that fall off at the slightest movement.

-Carlito's Cabana. This segment felt rushed to me. I like Carlito but it would've been cool had they given him more time to interact with Hogan instead of getting punched in the face after 2 min.

-Viscera. I don't understand what is going on with this angle, nor do I care. The sooner it's off my television, the better.

-Chavo Guerrero. WTF are they doing to this guy? First it makes no sense to move him to RAW, he's going to be buried in 2-3 months. Second, the gimmick they are trying with him is terrible. Kerwin White? A middle-class white guy. This is the best they could do for Chavo? Sad. First the Mexicools now this. Boy, for every 1-2 good ideas WWE comes up with, it seems like there are 5-6 bad ones we have to put up with.

-JR and the King bragging about how RAW was the No. 1 show on cable last week. Back in the day WWE never did things like this, mainly because everyone knew RAW was the show to watch. Now they feel like they have to tell us this anytime they are No. 1. Let me know you're No. 1 when you do it for a month straight, not one random week, because I'd be willing to be their ratings took a huge hit last night due to the holiday.

Ok..here we go..


Pros:

-I loved the HBK heel turn. Surprised the shit out of me, and that's always great to see. I think it was Bouch that said with all the net spoilers and all it's hard to be surprised so this was a good treat. I was pissed off when Hogan beat Carlito, (I still think that shouldn't have happend) but when HBK kicked Hogan's head off I got a big smile across my face. I can't wait to see heel HBK on RAW next week.

-The Highlight Reel. I thought some of Cena's material was a little idiotic like the "hero cookies" and the "cheap sauce" but for the most part Cena was ok, and Jericho, well what can I say? Jericho was perfect in this segment and his new outlook on life has gotten me excited about this feud.

-The new Chavo gimmick. I like it,. It's different than anything the guy has ever done and I was hella sick of him being the Eddie #2 character. If this guy is going to stay employed than they were right in changing his style.

-The diva segment. Ok...I hate the search, but this was entertaining. Much better than listening to them talk. We got to see a little T & A which is ok. I'm a fan of Leyla though. I have to admit. She's fine as hell.

-Hurricane and Rosey w/ Stacy. I like this stable. They are pretty entertaining, but really need some tag teams to fight. Anyone remember that they are the champs? lol


Cons:

-Hogan beating Carlito. I can't stand when this shit happens. The match should have ended with a no-contest or something, but then the out of nowhere heel turn would have been more difficult to pull off, so I guess I can't be that pissed after all.

-WWE putting over Hogan's show. Way too much, enough is enough.

-Snitsky & Edge getting squashed. I know it was Show and Kane, but could you make Edge look a little more competitive? He is Mr. Money in the Bank you know?


All in all it was a good show. Lacking in the in-ring action department however, so I have to give it 3 out of 5 instead of four...

So which girls' top fell off? I can never remember names and I'm not startng now but I'd like to know. Also, was she wearing a pastie? B/c otherwise her nipple was bright red.

I thought RAW was ok, though I think more annoying than plugging the ratings or even Hogan's new show was how many times I had tohear King scream she's great in the sack or get in the sack or other sack related outbursts.
The turn was great but I still am sick of HBK. And Hogan should just leave. He won't lose and he shouldn't have to lose in a way that makes him look bad (though I think Hogan makes Hogan look bad ifyou get what I'm saying), but he shouldn't be going over guys like Carlito either. If it was Piper or Dusty, that'd be one thing but....

Yeah..that was the girl I want to win, Leyla.. I think she had like little red stars on her nipples but I could be wrong.

Don't get me wrong though, I still hate this fuckin' search, but I hate it even more when they talk..Ugh..



Anyway, You're right Jackie. I was really tired of seeing Hogan & HBK pose around week after week. I would like to see Hogan leave soon, but at least they did something with the two. For a sec, I was scared that these two would just start running through the whole company. I'm still bitter about Carlito losing..

HBK turn which was a really big shock to me!!

Cena-Jericho feud with excellent mic work from, in particular, John-boy

Cabana segment was a good opening to the show and he and Angle were excellent

Maria kept pushing her heaving chest together a lot whilst looking dumb. That's a fantastic reason to watch this show.

Cons

My heart sinking everytime poor Val gets sent to the ring thesedays

Viscera wrestling in his pyjamas in this never ending angle. Sucks to be a Heart Throb

The diva search crap

Pretty good show though.

-Teasing a Highlight Reel v. Carlito's Cabana feud
-Y2J getting another run at the title
-No Triple H on my TV

Cons:

-Too much Hogan and Diva bulls**** on my TV
-Viscera/Hearthrobs - boo hoo Lilian, move on
-People I don't care to see on my TV - Snitsky, Show, Kane and Edge - snore match!
-The Super Hero PSA - just how dumb do you think we are?
-Rene's new gimmick, looks like one of those evil greasy villain's than a Frenchman, his old look worked better.
