Sorry guys. I SEVERLY screwed up the last post PPV thread.

So sorry. Here is everyones responses so far.

Vengence 2005 thoughts. Post PPV discussion. I didnt get to see anything but the two Title matches. (although I did read JV's review, so I am pretty much up to speed.) My thoughts: Edge needed to win. Granted he has legit heat with Lita and he doesnt really NEED the win, but it would have made a hella lot more sense to push Edge at this point. Why give Kane the win? Didnt he just face Viscera at Backlash? When is the last time you gave a shit about the character Kane. Edge should have set his ass on fire and sent him away till Mania22. Kane rebuilds his image while Edge gets the super mega heel heat. This made no sense to me. Christy vs. Victoria......next My guess is that Vince is thinking he did a good job booking the Cena match. Nobody really picked Cena, yet Cena wins...........Now what? So they may combine the Cena title with the Batista title while creating a new one for Smackdown? Where does the Harley Race and Ric Flair title reigns go? They are attached to that WCW/NWA belt. Its ludicrous to unify them IMO. I started another thread regarding HHH. Seriously, that dude has earned my respect for the rest of his career and beyond. He was an awesome Mega Heel against the Rock and Mick Foley 5 years ago, then 3 years ago everyone and I mean everyone was getting tired of his winning ways. Look at him now. He has basically given the torch to Batista. He wont light it for him, but he has let him hold it. I realize that Batista is older than HHH and its not handing him the torch per say, but gawd damn. He has Batista beat HIM CLEAN 3 straight matches?!?!?! Tell me the last time Austin, Rock, Goldberg, Sting, Nash or Undertaker let that happen to them. Think about it. __________________ :smoker:

This was the first PPV I watched (and paid for) since the Rumble (I downloaded Wrestlemania after it happened) and I gots'ta say I was not dissapointed. All of the matches delivered, although I really dont like the fact that Edge lost to Kane. That win would have been huge for Edge and set him up as a legitamite heel contender for Batista's title.

As for Batista I think he and Edge may have a match tonight on RAW (Edge cashes in the money in the bank) and the winner will go to SD! as champ.

Also, I was dissapointed y2J didnt win. I still think he will move to SD! but I thought he should have went there with the WWE title. Y2J has to move though, otherwise RAW has 2 different interviewer/wrestlers on the same show and each of there segments are good. It'll be overload if they keep both Carlito and Jericho.

Anyways, the matches were solid... even the women.

It was a good show to mainly because I wasnt expecting it. Well not until I saw the card, and was blown away how good it was for a single brand ppv.

Favorite match was the triple threat, followed by michaels/angle, then Trips/Batista

Overall a pretty sweet ppv...

Angle v. HBK was a classic and the HIAC was pretty cool too especially with the barbwire chair spots. I was suprized that they let Carlito and Shelton go as long as they did, but they put on a good match to say the least.

Pros -

Angle and Michaels was stunning again. No gimmicks, no props, just a quality match. Shame it didn't get a bigger build up in the run in but you can't have everything.

WWE Triple Threat. Had an excellent pace to it, all three guys worked in fast mo and John Cena even held up his end, although a broomstick could have probably had a pretty good match with Jericho & Christian in that form.

Carlito and Shelton was a pretty good match, certainly good for an opener.

Cons -

Don't understand why they seem to build up Edge as a leading heel, then have Kane slaughter the guy. Maybe it's all explained on Raw....haven't watched that yet.

Hell in a Cell. It won't make me popular here, but these matches are getting duller and duller. Now I'm a fan of the blonde big nosed Al Snow beard wearing guy, but if I have to see him or The 'Taker in another HiaC match I'll scream. It's always the same blood and shortcuts and, in this particular instance, they could have had this match without the cell at all since it hardly ever came into play. I'm still pretty blah about Batista too. For all the charisma he showed pre 'Mania, and with three wins over Hunter, he still doesn't excite me. What's a performer got to do to get in my good books!!!

I guess you just like the actual wrestlers in the company Bulldog, and Batista doesn't really fit that. He has about 3 or 4 solid moves and the rest is punch, kick, and resthold.

However, he's popular right now because of you know who so WWE will ride this out until people get sick of him like they got sick of Goldberg.


BTW, I much rather see guys like HBK, Angle, Benoit, etc. busting their ass in 5 star matches anyday, than a guy that's all character and not much else when he steps foot in the ring.
